Observe Veteran's Day with the
Chicago Military Academy at the
Bronzeville Veteran's Day Parade

WHAT: Former U.S. Senator Carol Moseley Braun will observe Veteran's Day by attending a parade featuring the Chicago Military Academy in Bronzeville. While she was a U.S. Senator, Moseley Braun wrote the legislation that included $10 million in the $270 billion Defense Appropriations Bill that established the home of the academy, The Bronzeville Armory. The Chicago Military Academy was the first of five CPS comprehensive military academies for high school students in the city.
"These military academies provide Chicago students with a unique opportunity to develop leadership skills while receiving an exceptional education," said Moseley Braun. "I am honored to join them in paying tribute the men and women who have sacrificed so much to protect our freedom."
Sen. Moseley Braun continues traveling the neighborhoods of Chicago to hear the concerns of citizens as she moves towards officially announcing her candidacy in the upcoming 2011 Mayoral election.
WHERE: The Bronzeville Veteran's Day Parade
The one-hour parade kicks off at 9:30 AM at 43rd Street and Martin Luther King Dr., and ends at the Victory Monument at 35th Street and King Drive. The Victory Monument, a sculpture of a soldier perched on a high column, honors African-Americans who served in World War I.
Senator Braun will join those in the reviewing stand located at 35th Street & Martin Luther King Drive.
