Luis Gutierrez mayoral decision due today at UIC speech

Last week I wrote about how Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.) mulling a Chicago mayoral run, is torn about what to do. His decision comes today in a speech at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Education, Immigration, Public Service Themes of Congressman's Address

(Chicago, IL) - Thursday, Rep. Luis V. Gutierrez (D-IL) will address a group of students at the University of Illinois, Chicago (UIC) on the themes of education, immigration, and public service. The address, at 3:00 p.m. CT at the campus' Rafael Cintron-Ortiz Latino Cultural Center, is hosted by Tau Phi Sigma Multicultural Fraternity. Rep. Gutierrez' youngest daughter, Jessica, is a freshman at UIC and helped arrange the gathering for students interested in public policy, politics, and issues affecting Latino and immigrant students and students of all backgrounds.

What: Speech to UIC Students Hosted by Tau Phi Sigma Multicultural Fraternity

When: Thursday, October 14, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. CT

Where: Rafael Cintron-Ortiz Latino Cultural Center
803 S. Morgan in Lecture Center B2 (East Side of the UIC Campus).
