DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2010

In the morning, the President will deliver remarks at the President's Export Council meeting in the East Room. The President's remarks are pooled press. Later in the morning, the President and the Vice President will receive the Economic Daily Briefing and the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. The President will then meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. These meetings are closed press.

Later, the President and the Vice President will have lunch in the Private Dining Room. This lunch is closed press.

In the afternoon, the President will participate in an Ambassador Credentialing Ceremony in the Oval Office. At this event, the President will receive the credentials from foreign Ambassadors recently posted in Washington. The presentation of credentials is a traditional ceremony that marks the formal beginning of an Ambassador's service in Washington. This event is closed press. The following Ambassadors will attend:

Later, the President will meet with Senator Robert Menendez and Representatives Nydia Velazquez and Luis Gutierrez in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Later in the afternoon, the President will make an announcement on the expansion of his "Educate to Innovate" initiative to improve science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education in order to better prepare students to lead in the 21st century economy. The President will be joined by leaders who are at the forefront of innovation in the world of science, technology, engineering, and math. The President's remarks in the South Court Auditorium are pooled press.

Later, the President will travel to Connecticut to attend events for Connecticut Attorney General Blumenthal and the DNC. There will be travel pool coverage of the President's remarks at the event for Attorney General Blumenthal and print pool coverage of the DNC event.

The President will return to Washington, DC at night. The departure from John F. Kennedy International Airport and the arrival on the South Lawn are open press.
