Even before the deadlock was announced, the Blagojevich jurors had told the judge they wanted to be off on Friday. On Thursday, U.S. District Court Judge James Zagel told the deadlocked jurors to keep trying when they get back to deliberations on Monday, as mistrial speculation grows, reports the Sun-Times trial team led by Natasha Korecki with Dave McKinney and Sarah Ostman and Abdon M. Pallasch.

On Thursday, waiting at the courthouse in Chicago's Loop for the verdict, former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich played a trivia game with reporters and did pretty well. Wife Patti was knitting in the background and chimed in with an answer too. The Sun-Times trial team has this and more.
