WEEKEND GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
SATURDAY, AUGUST 28 AND SUNDAY, AUGUST 29


The President has no scheduled public events on Saturday. He will remain in Martha's Vineyard through Sunday.

On Sunday, the President and First Lady will travel to New Orleans, Louisiana where the President will deliver a speech at Xavier University on the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. Members of the President's Cabinet who have worked to speed recovery and restoration efforts will also be in the region to mark the anniversary. The departure from the Cape Cod Coast Guard Air Station and arrival to Louis Armstrong Airport are open press.

The President and the First Lady will return to the White House in the evening. The departure from Louis Armstrong Airport and arrival on the South Lawn are open press.

On Monday, the President will attend meetings at the White House.

On Tuesday, the President will travel to Fort Bliss, Texas, where he will meet with troops. Later, the President will also address the nation on Iraq from the Oval Office.

On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the President will attend meetings at the White House.
