WASHINGTON--The Illinois Senate is tied, according to a Rasmussen poll taken on Aug. 9. The automated poll put both Republican Rep. Mark Kirk and Democrat Alexi Giannoulias, the state treasurer, at 40 per cent. The number of people who are unsure of either candidate had basically stayed the same since the February primary, ranging between 10 percent and 12 percent.
