WASHINGTON--While President Obama in Chicago Thursday helped fill Democratic Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias campaign warchest, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce jumped in the Illinois contest with an ad calling Giannoulias "anti-business."
I was told the Chamber spot--its first in the Illinois race--will run in Chicago and other markets around the state.
In the 12 plus weeks leading up to the November election, third party outside interest groups will flood Illinois with ads designed to help elect either Giannoulias or his rival, Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.)

U.S. Chamber Launches TV Ad Blitz in Illinois
Highlights Giannoulias' 'Record of Economic Failure'
WASHINGTON, D.C.--The U.S. Chamber of Commerce today launched the television ad "Economic Failure" throughout Illinois to highlight Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias' anti-business record.
"Illinois' voters want a candidate with common sense policies that create jobs, not a pattern of highly questionable activity that has left a trail of economic problems," said Bill Miller, national political director for the Chamber. "This ad will remind Illinois' voters that a candidate's record matters when it comes to job creation, especially at a time when more than 1 in 10 people in Illinois are looking for work."
