DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
THURSDAY, JULY 8, 2010

In the morning, the President will travel to Kansas City, Missouri. The departure from the South Lawn and the arrival at Kansas City International Airport are open press. In the afternoon, the President will visit Smith Electric Vehicles in Kansas City, Missouri, where he will tour the facilities and deliver remarks on the economy to workers. Smith Electric Vehicles is an all-electric, zero emissions commercial truck manufacturer that received a $32 million Recovery Act grant to build all-electric trucks. The award, which is part of the $2.4 billion in Recovery Act advanced battery and electric vehicle grants the President announced last August, is helping Smith Electric establish operations at a re-purposed jet engine overhaul facility at the Kansas City International Airport, the first of as many as 20 regional assembly plants Smith Electric plans to open in the U.S.

Later, the President will attend fundraisers for Senate candidate Robin Carnahan. There will be travel pool coverage of the President's remarks at the Kansas City Marriot. The President's remarks at a grass roots event for Senate candidate Robin Carnahan are open press.

Later in the afternoon, the President will travel to Las Vegas, Nevada. The President's departure from Kansas City International Airport and arrival at McCarran International Airport are open press.

In the evening, the President will attend fundraisers for Senator Harry Reid. The President's remarks at the fundraiser event are open press. The dinner fundraiser is closed press.

The President will spend the night in Las Vegas, Nevada.

I can't help but wonder....
How much did this cost the taxpayers to raise money for the Nev Senator?
and
What was the negative financial impact to the Las Vegas Economy with the
closere of all of the Las Vegas airports.
Not to mention that the University Medical Center's emergency air ambulance helipad is in the no fly zone.
