CHICAGO - U.S. Representative Melissa Bean (D-IL-08) will join U.S. Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), U.S. Senator Roland Burris (D-IL), U.S. Representative Jan Schakowsky, and U.S. Representative Bill Foster for a news conference regarding the bipartisan Wall Street reform legislation approved by the Senate earlier today. The bill now heads to the President to be signed into law. The Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act will put tough new watchdogs on Wall Street to protect consumers and end taxpayer bailouts.
