As you know, today, the confirmation hearings for Elena Kagan to be an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court will begin. I wanted to pass along some information that might be helpful: 1) Excerpts of her opening statement; 2) a letter of support by all 10 Solicitors General since 1985; 3) a letter of support by the National District Attorneys Association; 4) a bipartisan letter of support by her fellow Supreme Court clerks from 1987-88; and 5) a letter of support signed by nearly a third of all law school deans in the nation.
