DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
MONDAY, JUNE 14, 2010
In the morning, the President will travel to the Gulf Coast to assess the ongoing efforts to counter the BP oil spill. The departure from the South Lawn and the arrival at Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport are open press.
Later in the morning, the President will receive a briefing with Admiral Allen and local officials on efforts to fight the BP oil spill at the Coast Guard Station Gulfport in Gulfport, Mississippi. The President will then host a roundtable and meet with local residents in Gulfport, Mississippi. There will be travel pool coverage of these meetings.
In the afternoon, the President will travel to Theodore, Alabama. Upon arrival in Theodore, the President will tour the Theodore Staging Facility. Following the tour, the President will deliver remarks to the press. The President's remarks are open press.
Later in the afternoon, the President will travel by ferry from Dauphin Island, Alabama to Fort Morgan, Alabama. There will be travel pool coverage of the ferry ride.
In the evening, the President will travel to Pensacola, Florida and spend the night.
Also tomorrow, Solicitor General Elena Kagan will travel to Capitol Hill to meet with Senator Kyl.
