Kirk rolls out endorsement from GOP environmental, veterans groups

GOP Illinois Senate nominee Mark Kirk's campaign, after loosing endorsements from environment groups which used to back Kirk--and in the wake of Kirk's embellishments about his miltary record--rolls out endorsements from a GOP environmental group and a veterans organization.

below, from Kirk campaign...

Vets for Freedom, Republicans for Environmental Protection Endorse Kirk for Senate

Dear Friend:

Our campaign is pleased to announce two new endorsements this week.

Veterans Stand with Kirk

Yesterday, Vets for Freedom endorsed Mark Kirk for Senate, calling him a "true friend and champion" for veterans, service members and military families.

As a 21-year Navy Intelligence Reserve Officer with distinguished service in Operation Allied Force (Kosovo), Operation Northern Watch (Iraq), Afghanistan and the National Military Command Center, there are few public servants with Mark Kirk's level of experience and expertise on the most important national security issues of our time.

As a congressman, Mark Kirk saved a veterans hospital from closing, secured education funding for military families and led the effort to establish a national disabled veterans memorial.

Veterans, service members and military families have a true friend and champion in Mark Kirk - and we stand with him in this election.

Thanks, Lynn.

No news here except that perhaps Kirk has finally toned down his military bio close to reality.

Does Kirk ever HELP ANYONE ELSE? To read this latest garbage, it appears he single-handedly "saved a veterans hospital from closing" and single-handedly rescued educational funding.

WOW, just imagine what Mark could do as a member of a team!

I guess we need to forward this latest demonstration of bravery and valor to Rachel Maddow.

Losing is spelled wrong. Did you misremember wrongly?

Rep. Kirk usually agrees with liberals. According to, these are some of Rep. Kirk's latest interest group ratings: Planned Parenthood, 100%; NEA, A; Americans for Democratic Action, 55%; AFL-CIO, 47%; American Conservative Union, 48%; Club for Growth, 42%; National Taxpayers Union, C-; Citizens Against Government Waste, 33%; John Birch Society, 25%; Concerned Women of America, 23%; and Gun Owners of America, F-.
