Dick Durbin on health care public option: variations possible.


WASHINGTON--Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) on NBC's "Meet the Press" told host David Gregory on Sunday that the so-called public option in the health care bills pending in Congress --different versions of the plan in the House and Senate measures--does not have to be a deal killer.

The public option can and will be subject to negotiation, Durbin said."It has been. Putting in the opt-out was clearly a variation on the theme from the beginning."
