DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

In the morning, the President will depart San Francisco, California en route Houston. The departure is open press. Later the President will attend a Points of Light forum at Texas A&M University hosted by President George H.W. Bush. This event is open press. In the evening, the President will depart Houston and return to Washington, DC. The departure from George Bush Intercontinental Airport and the arrival on the South Lawn are open press.

Tomorrow, Friday, October 16 at 9:00am, Governor Jim Douglas of Vermont will hold a media availability at the stakeout location outside the James S. Brady press briefing room. The media availability will follow a meeting on pending health insurance reform legislation with Nancy-Ann DeParle, Director of the White House Office of Health Reform.

Also tomorrow at 12:00 PM EDT, Lawrence H. Summers, Director of the National Economic Council, will deliver remarks at The Economist's Buttonwood Gathering in New York City. Dr. Summers will discuss President Obama's proposals for comprehensive financial reform. The Economist is handling all media logistics and credentialing.
