President Obama official schedule and guidance, Oct. 1, 2009. Departs for Copenhagen

DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1, 2009

In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing, the Economic Daily Briefing, and meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. These meetings are closed press.

In the afternoon, the President will deliver remarks at a fundraiser for the Democratic Governors Association at the St. Regis Hotel. The President's remarks are pooled press.

Later, the President will meet separately with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner in the Oval Office. These meetings are closed press.

In the evening, the President will travel to Copenhagen, Denmark. The departure from the South Lawn is open press.

Also tomorrow, in the first installment of an innovative new series reaching out to states and regions across the country, the White House and HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius will welcome Senator Sheldon Whitehouse for a live online video chat at 5:30PM EDT. The Secretary and the Senator will sit down for a half hour at the White House in a session streamed live at WhiteHouse.gov to answer the questions that the Senator hears most frequently from Rhode Islanders. In addition to being streamed live at WhiteHouse.gov, the Secretary and the Senator and will also take questions live through the White House's video chat Facebook application, where constituents can discuss the session as it is happening. The Facebook application can be viewed at any time at: http://apps.facebook.com/whitehouselive/.

Chief Technology Officer Aneesh Chopra will address the Medical Technology Summit via live-stream at 8:30AM EDT. The speech will be streamed on www.WhiteHouse.gov and after his remarks, CTO Chopra will take questions via Twitter.
