President Obama official schedule and guidance, Sept. 24, 2009. At U.N., G20 in Pittsburgh

DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2009

In the morning, the President will chair the UN Security Council meeting at the United Nations Headquarters. This meeting is open press.

The President and British Prime Minister Gordon Brown will then co-chair the Friends of Pakistan leaders meeting at the Waldorf Astoria. This meeting is closed press.

In the afternoon, the President will travel to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The departure from John F. Kennedy International Airport and the arrival at Pittsburgh International Airport are open press.

In the evening, the President will attend the G-20 leaders working dinner at the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens. The President and the First Lady will greet leaders and their spouse upon arrival. The greetings will be covered by the travel pool and the G-20 Summit pool. The dinner is closed press.



Also tomorrow, Council of Economic Advisers Chair Christina Romer will deliver a speech at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago where she will compare the economic shocks faced during the Great Depression and the current recession, and the vastly different policy responses to each crisis. She will also discuss the importance of passing comprehensive regulatory reform. The event will take place at Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, 230 LaSalle Street, Chicago from 12:30 -1:30PM.
