Robin Kelly launching Dem bid for Illinois treasurer

Kelly to join supporters at Hotel Allegro at 10 a.m.

CHICAGO - Robin Kelly, current chief of staff to Illinois Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, will officially launch her campaign for Illinois State Treasurer at 10 a.m. on Monday at the Hotel Allegro in Chicago. Kelly will hold additional announcement events in Normal and Peoria, IL later that day.

After being re-elected to a third term in the Illinois House of Representatives, Kelly joined Treasurer Giannoulias as his chief of staff in January 2007. Leveraging her experience in the legislature and in community development, Kelly helped him turn the $17 billion agency around by improving efficiencies, making the office more accessibleto people throughout Illinois, and demanding stronger ethical guidelines. A Bradley University graduate, Kelly lived in Peoria for 17 years before moving to the south suburbs of Cook County, where she lives today with her husband and children.
