The scoop from Washington

What would you ask President Obama?

WASHINGTON--I'll be at President Obama's press conference at the White House on Wednesday night. (7 p.m. Chicago time) I have no idea if I will be called on, but I always go armed with lots of questions just in case. Obama has a lot on his plate--health care is center stage this week, and he is sure to get questions about whether health care bills pending in Congress will ever get to his desk to sign.

I'm interested in your input. What do you want asked?

It’s official. America and the World are now in a GLOBAL PANDEMIC. A World EPIDEMIC with potential catastrophic consequences for ALL of the American people. The first PANDEMIC in 41 years. And WE THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES will have to face this PANDEMIC with the 37th worst quality of healthcare in the developed World.

We spend over twice as much of our GDP on healthcare as any other country in the World. And Individual American spend about ten times as much out of pocket on healthcare as any other people in the World. All because of GREED! And the PRIVATE FOR PROFIT healthcare system in America.

And while all this is going on, some members of congress seem mostly concern about how to protect the corporate PROFITS! of our GREED DRIVEN, PRIVATE FOR PROFIT NATIONAL DISGRACE. A PRIVATE FOR PROFIT DISGRACE that is in fact, totally valueless to the public health. And a detriment to national security, public safety, and the public health.

Progressive democrats the Tri-Caucus and others should stand firm in their demand for a robust government-run public option for all Americans, with all of the minimum requirements progressive democrats demanded. If congress can not pass a robust public option with at least 51 votes and all robust minimum requirements, congress should immediately move to scrap healthcare reform and request that President Obama declare a state of NATIONAL HEALTHCARE EMERGENCY! Seizing and replacing all PRIVATE FOR PROFIT health insurance plans with the immediate implementation of National Healthcare for all Americans under the provisions of HR676 (A Single-payer National Healthcare Plan For All).

Coverage can begin immediately through our current medicare system. With immediate expansion through recruitment of displaced workers from the canceled private sector insurance industry. Funding can also begin immediately by substitution of payroll deductions for private insurance plans with payroll deductions for the national healthcare plan. This is what the vast majority of the American people want. And this is what all objective experts unanimously agree would be the best, and most cost effective for the American people and our economy.

In Mexico on average people who received medical care for A-H1N1 (Swine Flu) with in 3 days survived. People who did not receive medical care until 7 days or more died. This has been the same results in the US. But 50 million Americans don’t even have any healthcare coverage. And at least 200 million of you with insurance could not get in to see your private insurance plans doctors in 2 or 3 days, even if your life depended on it. WHICH IT DOES!

If President Obama has to declare a NATIONAL STATE OF EMERGENCY to rescue the American people from our healthcare crisis, he will need all the sustained support you can give him. STICK WITH HIM! He’s doing a brilliant job.

Join the fight.

Contact congress and your representatives NOW! AND SPREAD THE WORD!

God Bless You

Is it possible to force the Senate to stay in session to work on healthcare legislation instead of letting them take the August recess?

I have 30 years experience talking with and helping people everyday through the problems they face with health insurance. I am a health insurance broker, a specialist. There are thousands of health insurance specialists out there. How come we were never included in any discussions on the what to do and how to do it? On this one issue, no one knows it better than me. I not only know the pulse of the problem, I can actually taste the blood, that's how involved I am.

Our goal should be to cover all individuals through private health insurance. We are not prepared to turn our health system over to the government. Advocate for greater transparency in both quality and price information. Place both the decision making ability and healthcare dollars in the hands of the consumer. Support the Friends of the U.S. Chamber and sign the Health Care petition at .

I would ask Obama : why our congress and executive branch wants to reinvent national infrastructural changes when other countries have models to use. For instance, why don't we model healthcare changes after the international standard: France. Instead, it seems, we are pushing for expanding a well-known paperwork nightmare known as Medicare. It seems if we NEED to make a move fast to correct things, use a model that has already weathered the storm. And before you start shooting holes in France's the facts.

I have two questions. One pertains to health care and one pertains to the financial crisis that is still ongoing. I think that it is very difficult for even the most vociferous supporters to credibly endorse any health proposal that may be floating around Congress, when there is no common field of understanding among average citizens on how the system works in the first place, not to mention what a national system would look like after legislation and what the cost would be to individuals. This is not clear at all. What is clear to me is that I pay alot now for a private policy and I may pay alot later for health care through a public system approach that may not give me the access and input into my own care that I desire. This is not appealing to me. Why isn't the administration focusing more on causing affordability for everyone and cost reductions/containment for health care and insurance providers?

As it pertains to the financial crisis, I would like to know why AIG is still paying bonuses when recent analyst reports indicate that the entity may have zero equity and it is clear that AIG is deeply in the red. I am certain that highly trained lawyers drafted whatever agreements are being relied upon to pay bonuses. I find it bizarre and highly suspect that those agreements do not stipulate that the bonuses are contingent upon several performance criteria at least one of which should include the profitability of AIG. While the people that work in these entities are undeniably well educated, one is led to beleive that wisdom and common sense may be in short supply. This is less than comforting and something that the administration can remedy quickly if it desires. Further, I understand that AIG is selling the only enterprises that are profitable. That will leave AIG with only the assets that are undesireable and a subordinate position in existing business units that have some value that will be spun off as stand alone entities. I understand that the "Government" will receive some value through a preferred position. Please explain where the revenues that the Government receives will go and how that will benefit the taxpayers. Also, I understand that the Federal Reserve Bank of New York will also receive a preferred position in the new spun off entities. Please explain how the proceeds received by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York will be used to benefit the Taxpayers.

Mr. President:

I have heard virtually no mention in the current debate of Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which declares that medical care is a basic Human Right.
Most developed countries in the world recognize this, why not hit the Republicans square in the teeth with the human damage that results from their greed?

I would ask this president...

Mr. President, are you familiar with the fable, "The Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs"?

If so, Mr. President, please provide me with a figurative representation of where you believe all of these programs and all of this mammoth deficit spending in which our nation is engaged applies, relative to the proverbial "Golden Goose"...

What about taxing "the evil, filthy, greedy, rich" that everyone loves to hate so much, Mr. President? Tell us how they fit into the "Golden Goose" fable, sir?

Now that you've violently thrashed and killed these particular geese, can you tell me in just how many 360 degree twists are their necks now that you've wrapped them around that fisted grip you've got 'round their now limp and broken necks?

And, so what has all this imprudent wild adventurous experiments on our liberties done for your credibility, but more importantly, our future, Mr. President?

And, finally, do you realize how foolish you've been, Mr. President, and just how quickly you've literally endangered this nation, by placing it on numerous ticking time-bombs-like paths of certain destruction with these imprudent adventures, sir?

Sure wish you weren't so much of an ideologue that you would actually listen and consider the tens of thousands of examples from world history (from Alexander the Great to the Greeks of Athens and Sparta; from the Roman Empire to the Frankish expansion and conquests; from the Ottoman Empire to the Austo-Hungarian annexation of Croatia and Bosnia, and so on...

Gosh, we could be here for days. But, you've repeatedly reminded us just how completely illiterate when it comes to world history, not to mention that little gaff about the 57 states.

And especially after that darned Cairo speech -- boy, was that a close one which nobody ever even busted your butt about -- you know, the part when you were reading your teleprompter about the Holocaust, when you referred to the Third Reich (RIKE) as the Third RYCHE --using that hard "CH" sound-- which was, of course, both very embarrassing and incredibly revealing...

And imagine that. Not ONE WORD WAS EVER SAID about this massive blunder either, or the 30 or so others; yet the American press just seems to possess such a hard on to make fun of George Bush and Sarah Palin for far less... Makes even a REASONABLE PERSON, REASONABLY QUESTION if they actually have a bias of one kind or another doesn't it?

Yes, Mr. President, these folks who once were able to actually call themselves professional journalists now have their eyes closed in ecstatic bliss, while their mouths are figuratively wrapped firmly 'round the presidential podium microphone, waiting for you to come forward and express yourself. It's something they pray for every night and then rise in the morning hopeful to receive, believing that it is the exclusive sustenance of their very existence, sir. After all, no one has yet to see them deviate not once from this position of servitude... You are blessed indeed, sir.

No more questions from me, sir.
For I've been blessed with incredible eyesight, and can see everything I need to see for myself quite clearly...

Mr. President, in previous speeches you have spoken many times of the dire health concerns in the Black American communities.

This is a two part question.

Mr. President, please give a synopsis of your plan to facilitate more students of color into the fields of medicine, science and physics with an onus towards retention? And your time-table sir?

Please give a five to seven step plan to expedite a Health Care Reform Commission and what it will do for low income communities to attain and maintain quality health care for all in America?

Thank you.
