Phil, I think I know what you are trying to say, but they came from two parent households as well. This might have had more of an influence instead of just stating their dads were instrumental in their lives.

You have put their mothers & other women in the background as though these popluar individuals had no nurturing from them as well.

I get what you mean about having a father in the home, but dont' embellish as though mom was just along for the ride.
