DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
TUESDAY, JUNE 30, 2009
In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing, the Economic Daily Briefing, and meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. These meetings are closed press.
In the afternoon, the President will deliver remarks at an event in the East Room highlighting innovative programs that are making a difference in communities across the country. He will discuss the importance of searching outside Washington to find and expand successful community solutions, and challenge foundations and philanthropists to join in this effort. This event is open press.
Later, the President will meet with Secretary of Energy Steven Chu in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.
Also tomorrow morning at the Personal Democracy Forum in New York City, Vivek Kundra, the Federal Chief Information Officer (CIO), and Macon Phillips, White House Director of New Media, will announce the launch of the IT Dashboard, a part of USASpending.gov, which will provide the American people with new access to federal technology spending information, project status updates, and evaluation reports. Kundra will host a conference call with reporters at 3:30PM EDT to explain how the IT Dashboard works. There will be a demonstration for those who would like to join in person in Room 430A of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
