DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR

TUESDAY, JUNE 23, 2009

In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing, the Economic Daily Briefing, and meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. These meetings are closed press.

In the afternoon, the President will hold a news conference in the Rose Garden. This event is open press. Members of the public will be able to react to the conference and connect with one another at an official online chat room: http://apps.facebook.com/whitehouselive/.

Later, the President will hold a one-on-one meeting with President Michelle Bachelet of Chile in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press. President Obama and President Bachelet will then hold an expanded meeting in the Oval Office. There will be a pool spray at the bottom of the meeting.

Later in the afternoon, the President will meet with Secretary of Defense Robert Gates in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Also tomorrow, the White House will hold a roundtable on the 37th Anniversary of Title IX featuring Senior Advisor Valerie Jarrett, Education Secretary Arne Duncan, and an all-star line-up of female athletes and scientists. In addition to the roundtable participants, which include Billie Jean King and Dominique Dawes, 30 local high school aged girls will be in the audience along with several professional athletes and well-known Title IX advocates. The roundtable will be held in Room 350 in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building at 2:30PM. Media who wish to attend should RSVP to media_affairs@who.eop.gov by 9:00AM EDT on Tuesday.
