WASHINGTON--First Lady Michelle Obama, daughters Malia and Sasha and her mom, Marian Robinson, wrapped up their vacation in London and Paris and returned to the White House on Thursday, I'm told by an East Wing spokesman.
Semonti Mustaphi, a spokesman for the First Lady, told me that the Obama women arrived in Washington early Thursday afternoon, the day after Sasha celebrated her eighth birthday by touring the Harry Potter movie set in London. (The British press, bless 'em got it only half right--reporting that the Obama women had visited the studio on Tuesday.)
Mrs. Obama, her mom and daughters flew in a U.S. government plane from London, wrapping up a visit there that started on Monday morning. While in London, they stayed at the official residence of the U.S. ambassador to Great Britain.
They started the vacation last Friday, flying to Paris from Washington and touring the Eiffel Tower soon after they arrived.
Mrs. Obama on Saturday joined President Obama in Normandy for ceremonies marking the 65th anniversary of D-Day.
