DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
MONDAY, MAY 4, 2009
In the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing, the Economic Daily Briefing, and meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. These meetings are closed press.
Later in the morning, the President will deliver remarks on tax reform in the Grand Foyer. Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner will also attend. This event is pooled TV and open to correspondents.
In the evening, the President and Mexican Ambassador Arturo Sarukhan will deliver remarks at a Cinco de Mayo event in the East Room. The First Lady, the Vice President and Dr. Jill Biden will also attend. This event is pooled press.
Also tomorrow afternoon, the Homeland Security Council will convene an exercise, including a number of Cabinet Secretaries, at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building in preparation for the upcoming hurricane season. The exercise is closed press.
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will deliver her routine briefing on the H1N1 virus from the Brady Briefing Room in the afternoon.
