President Obama official schedule and guidance, April 23, 2009. Credit cards, Holocaust Remembrance

DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
THURSDAY, APRIL 23, 2009

In the morning, the President and the Vice President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing and the Economic Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. These meetings are closed press. President Obama will also meet with senior advisors in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

Later in the morning, the President will travel to the Capitol to attend and deliver remarks at the Holocaust Days of Remembrance ceremony. This event is open to Capitol Hill credentialed media.

In the afternoon, the President will meet with the representatives of the credit card industry about the impact of the current crisis on consumers in the Roosevelt Room. President Obama has been a strong proponent of cleaning up the practices of the credit card industry since he was a Senator and he called for measures to strengthen consumer protection in the credit card market during the campaign. The President will make brief remarks during a pool spray at the bottom of the meeting.

Later in the afternoon, the President and the Vice President will meet with the Congressional leadership of both parties. This meeting is closed press.

The President will welcome the University of Florida football team to the White House in the East Room. This event will be pooled press.

The President will meet with Secretary of State Clinton in the Oval Office. This meeting is closed press.

In the evening, the President and First Lady will host a reception for Congressional members and their spouses in the Blue Room. Vice President Biden and Dr. Jill Biden will also attend. This event is closed press.
