DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
FRIDAY, MARCH 27, 2009

In the morning, the President will deliver remarks announcing a comprehensive, new strategy for Afghanistan and Pakistan in Room 450 of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. The audience will be comprised of members of the development, policy and diplomatic community, and civil ian and military personnel who will be serving in Afghanistan and Pakistan in coming months. Also attending will be ambassadors and other representatives of countries from the region. The remarks will be pooled press.

Following the President's remarks about Afghanistan, there will be an off-camera, on the record briefing about the President's interagency policy review on Pakistan and Afghanistan by chair Bruce Riedel, and co-chairs Ambassador Richard Holbrooke and Michelle Flournoy. The briefing will begin at 11:00AM in Room 450 in the EEOB.

The President will deliver remarks at Attorney General Eric Holder's installation at George Washington University. This event is pooled press.

After returning to the White House, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing. This meeting is closed press.

In the afternoon, President Obama will meet with the CEOs of several of the largest banks in the country to reiterate his belief that getting the economy back on track will require an understanding that each of us must look beyond our own short-term interests to the wider set of obligations we have to each other in order for America to succeed. This meeting is closed press.

In the evening, the President will travel to Camp David. The departure on the South Lawn is open press.
