DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
TUESDAY, MARCH 24, 2009
In the morning, President Obama will be joined by Congressional leaders and middle school students from the Washington, DC area in the Roosevelt Room to congratulate the astronauts on the International Space Station and the Space Shuttle Discovery on their successful ongoing mission. There will be a pool spray during the call.
Later in the morning, the President will receive the Presidential Daily Briefing in the Oval Office. This meeting will be closed press.
The President will then hold a one-on-one meeting with Australian Prime Minister Rudd in the Oval Office. The President and the Prime Minister will discuss major issues such as the international financial crisis, climate change, Afghanistan/Pakistan policy, nuclear nonproliferation, and arms control. There will be a pool spray at the bottom of the meeting.
In the early afternoon, the President will receive the Economic Daily Briefing and have lunch with the Vice President in the Oval Office. These meetings are closed press.
In the evening, the President will hold a news conference in the East Room. This event is for credentialed press only; the deadline to apply for credentials has already passed.
