DAILY GUIDANCE FOR THE VICE PRESIDENT

TUESDAY, MARCH 17, 2009

The Vice President will be in Washington DC. In the morning, the Vice President will join the President for a meeting with Senate Budget Committee Chairman Conrad and House Budget Committee Chairman Spratt to discuss the budget. The meeting is closed press.

Afterwards, the Vice President will attend the President⿿s Economic Daily Briefing in the Oval Office, followed by a meeting with the Taoiseach of Ireland Brian Cowen. There will be a pool spray at the top of the meeting.

Following the meeting, the President, the Vice President and the Taoiseach will attend a Shamrock Ceremony in the Roosevelt Room. This event is pooled press.

In the afternoon, the Vice President will attend Speaker Pelosi⿿s St. Patrick⿿s Day Lunch. There will be a pool spray at the bottom of the event.

The Vice President will then return to the White House to meet with Treasury Secretary Geithner and White House Economic Advisory Larry Summers to discuss financial institutions. This meeting is closed press

Afterwards, the Vice President will join the President in the Oval Office for a meeting with Secretary of Defense Gates.


In the evening, the Vice President and Dr. Jill Biden will attend St. Patrick⿿s Day Receptions held in the East Room and the State Dining Room. The Vice President will give remarks. The remarks in the East Room are pooled press and the remarks in the State Dining Room are print pool only.
