(PRNewsChannel) / Chicago, Ill. / Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich today signed a six figure book deal with one of the largest independent book publishers in the U.S., the PR firm representing Blagojevich announced today.

Blagojevich, who vehemently denies he tried to sell President Obama's senate seat, will write about the discussions, the considerations and the factors involved in picking Obama's successor to the U.S. Senate. Blagojevich maintains he was hijacked from office because of politics. In the book, he will write about his journey that led up to the twice-elected governor and former congressman being ousted from office. He also plans on exposing the dark side of politics that he witnessed in both the state and national level.

Phoenix Books is run by maverick publisher Michael Viner whose titles include books from celebrities like mega-rock star and businessman Gene Simmons and talk show host Larry King. Phoenix also has a large selection of popular fiction and intriguing mystery books.

"The governor chose to go with a large independent company because he wanted to tell his story without any restrictions over content that might've come with a major publishing house," says Glenn Selig, Blagojevich's publicist and founder of The Publicity Agency. "He simply did not want to accept constraints or conditions on what he could say in this book."

Selig says the governor will tell the American public the truth about what happened. He does not intend to pull any punches and will reveal information and provide insights that will at times be embarrassing to himself as well as to others.

"There were some people in high places who didn't want the governor to write this book and worked to try to squash a book deal," says Selig.

The terms of the book deal were not disclosed. The book, which has a working title of "The Governor," is set to be released by Phoenix Books in October.

The literary agent of record is Jarred Weisfeld of Objective Entertainment.

Now why in the world would I want to buy a book that will be written by someone who doesn't have the moral fiber of a slug. Perhaps if it is labeled as fiction I might reconsider but I believe the better reading will be the transcripts of Blago's court case.

Blagojevich is the best example of a self-serving polition on steroids. He has held out for the money he wants and hopefully his spandexed fanny will be sued, should he cross the line into fiction. Extremely sad for IL, as I was born and raised in neighboring Iowa Quad Cities, a.k.a. Little Chicago, sad for a great state to be stuck with such a horney toad for a governor.

Go get 'em Rod. Time to show these people what a person with some balls is willing to do to expose all these buttholes to the regular guys like me, about how really crooked the government is. It's a slippery slope put them on a sled and watch them crash in there own massive drift of misconduct. No one has clean hands. But now maybe you can make some of these blissfuly uninformed people see what Obama and his crooked crowd is all about. We need more people like you out there! Roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty. Expose the filth for people like me!

Good for him. He got the dems foot up his a__
I hope he exposes the true Chicago politics including Rahm and Obama.

If there is a God in heaven, people will stay away from this book in droves. As a type of book - Biops of Galatically Delusional Scumbags - his tome of self-pity and disingenuous explanations will likely be a crashing bore - just like its author. It would have been great if our politicians, the media and the public had treated Blago, from the outset, as they have our misguided junior senator Roland Burris.

Phoenix Books giving citizen Blagojevich opportunity to rise of of the ashes and generate some capital (funds) that he otherwise missed as governor, sweet deal. October, isn't the the month of Halloween?

Uh oh! I hope the messiah (Obama) and Emanuel are ready for this. If you thought not paying their taxes was the worst of the administration. Just be ready for what is in this book.

Holy krap, Batman! Chicago lying liars telling telling lies about loud-mouthed liars in the lie-ing-est city in liar-America!

Can't wait to read what really happened!

I'll line up to buy this book. Say what you want about Blago, he's a large part of the Obama fable. Remember this when you think of PBHO: "you are the company you keep." Peas in a pod, brothers in kind and straight out of the machine. Obama's days of media adulation will have a limited shelf life. That's why he's moving fast. 1,000 pages of pork and absolutely no transparency as promised. Clearly it's get the plan passed as quickly as possible. No stimulus package should be 30% of the GNP, adding up to a bottomless piggy bank for one-party control. Expose the corruption, Blago. Bring it on.

It will ether be boring as heck or Gov B will end up caped.

I'm not sure how he does it, but it appears he did it again. In the court of public opinion it seems he is guilty. If you listened to any of his media blitz rants it is clear he may have lied on occasions. I do not think the senate would impeach an innocent man. You would have to be a bit off in the head if you buy his book. I feel it may be filled with made up stuff to make him look good. I guess Phoenix will have to rush to publish to beat the feds trial. He has also tarnished the reputation of a good man, Roland Burris. I hope Phoenix looses a bundle on this deal for giving him the opprotunity to tell what may be just urban legend.

I've been hoping for this! I hope that he "sings, like a bird"!

Geez, who's next to get a book deal? Some unknown state senator from Illinois? What's he gonna write, an autobiography, followed by a memoir about drug use in college?

And this: "It would have been great if our politicians, the media and the public had treated (Obama), from the outset, as they have treated...(President Bush)."

He got indicted right after he witch-slapped B of A for witholding credit to a company that couldn't meet it's payroll. The fact is, the Feds don't care for the way things are done in Illinois, and they own B of A so they ambushed the Governor. He is, by the way, not guilty.

Roland Burris asked to resign won't. A special election will cost $50 million, so its out of the question. That he attempted to raise funds for Blogojevich and failed should be cause for removal-given the climate of pay-to-play is one of sanitized payoofs in the form of donations- but then I guess if you attempt to break and enter and fail at the latter you did nothing wrong.

We now see the state of Illinois suing KK Bioscience for $3.3billion for billing the state for work not done. I suppose there was campaign donation for the contract and no money to investigate who cut the checks, and who didn't review the work.

Then again so many state funded projects seem to come in well over budget and no ones asks why.

But the money still rolls into the politicians, and few in the populace are concerned, saynothing of fed up to demand an accountability.

I say let the Blogojevich book come, only if what we shouldknow about this corrupt stateis revealed. It seems the only way to get to the truth and get rid of the corrupt.

HE WILL START THE BOOK, BEFORE I GO TO JAIL, I
WANT ALL OF YOU TO KNOW THAT I HAVE COMPLETELY
LOST MY MIND, AND I CAN'T GET UP!
THIS GUY TRIED TO SELL A SENATE SEAT, FIRE
EDITORIAL STAFF MEMBERS, KEEP FUNDS FROM A
CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, HE SHOULD PLEAD INSANITY!
THE COMPANY THAT GAVE HIM THIS BOOK DEAL SHOULD
QUIT WHILE THEY ARE AHEAD, VERY BAD CHOICE FOR
THIS MAN TO WRITE A BOOK, HIS LIFE IS AN OPEN
BOOK!

This book deal might even make the Obama White House shut up about Limbaugh.

This guy is a picture of a liar, immoral, self serving, foul mouthed and mental problems. It's a waste of papers and ink to print his vomit!
