DAILY GUIDANCE AND PRESS SCHEDULE FOR
THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2009
Tomorrow morning, President Obama will travel to Ottawa, Canada. The departure from the South Lawn is open press.
Upon arrival in Ottawa, the President will meet with Governor General of Canada Michaƫlle Jean in the Canada Reception Centre at the Ottawa International Airport. Following the meeting, he will travel to Parliament Hill, where he will be met by Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Parliament officials. They will hold a sit-down meeting in the Prime Minister's office and then have a working lunch. In the afternoon, the President and Prime Minister will hold a joint press availability, which will be open press.
The President will then depart Parliament Hill and travel to the Ottawa International Airport, where he will meet with Leader of the Official Opposition Michael Ignatieff. Afterwards, he will meet with US Embassy employees and their families, before departing Ottawa to return to Andrews Air Force Base.
The President will return to the Washington DC in the evening. The arrival on the South Lawn is open press.

When I first heard of Barack Obama, I was a skeptic, however, the more I got to know him the more I admire and respect him. I am drawn to him because he exposes his human side, he is very respectful of all individuals even if he does not agree with you, he is very candid about who he is, and he is very warm and welcoming. He is also very refined and presents himself as a statesman.
These qualities help to mold him as a leader with great potential.
