below release from DFA....

Geoghegan for Congress today announced that it has received the endorsement of Democracy for America.

"DFA members are excited to support such a strong progressive leader. Tom has proven over and over again that he has the skills, knowledge and experience to fight for real change and get the job done,"" said Charles Chamberlain, political director, Democracy for America. ""Our members will be the boots on the ground working to deliver results on March 3rd."

Democracy for America is a key endorsement in this race, bringing donations from progressives and providing volunteers to participate in door-to-door, grassroots outreach. DFA has helped elect over 550 progressives to office, from Governor Deval Patrick in Massachusetts to Rep. Donna Edwards in Maryland''s 4th Congressional District.

"I am greatly honored to get the support of DFA,"" said Geoghegan. ""It cannot be overstated the importance DFA has had in transforming American politics. In just four years, they've helped make the Internet a new political tool that allows insurgent candidates to have a chance in elections where we previously would not been able to compete.

""I look forward to working with DFA, our net supporters, and the voters of the fifth district in bringing reform and economic security to working Americans."

Democracy for America ( is a grassroots political organization founded by Howard Dean and dedicated to recruiting, training, promoting and funding progressive candidates at all levels of government.

Thomas H. Geoghegan is a Chicago lawyer, author, and candidate for U.S. Representative from Illinois' fifth district. He is a graduate of Harvard Law School and Harvard University, and lives in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood.
