The Strategy Group Names Douglas Herman as Partner; Adds Three Senior Vice Presidents.

On the heels of a record 2008 election cycle, The Strategy Group, the nation's leading Democratic direct mail firm, announced that it is expanding with a new partner, and three new senior vice presidents.

"The Strategy Group has grown into one of the nation's top Democratic strategic communications firms," said Larry Grisolano. "With these additions to the team, The Strategy Group will continue to help our clients win campaigns at all levels."

The Strategy Group announced today that Douglas Herman has been named a partner in the firm. Additionally, Sheila Nix has been named a Senior Vice President in the Strategy Group's Chicago office, Michael Berman has been named Senior Vice President in the Strategy Group's Philadelphia office, and Morton Brilliant has been named Senior Vice President in the Washington DC office.

"Douglas Herman has helped our clients win a remarkable number of races over the last 7 years, including a clean sweep of California races this cycle, and we could not be happier to elevate him to Partner," said Pete Giangreco, a Partner in the Chicago office.

Grisolano will serve "of counsel" to the firm, and remain actively involved with the firm's clients, especially working with the California office on the California State Council of SEIU and the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor.

"Sheila and Michael are valuable members of our team," said Chicago-based Partner Terry Walsh. "Michael's years of working with foundations and issue-advocacy groups, and Sheila's tenure in the U.S. Senate and on high-level campaigns provide a wealth of experience and talent that we are excited to offer to our clients."

"Morton's broad political experience, and especially his work with gubernatorial communications, has been an asset to Strategy Group clients since he first joined the firm in 2006," said Steve Stenberg, a Partner in the Washington, DC office. "We're pleased to elevate him to Senior Vice President."

The Strategy Group is the nation's leading direct mail firm for Democratic candidates and progressive organizations. With offices in Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington, DC, the firm has served as direct mail consultants to every Democratic Presidential campaign since Bill Clinton. In 2008, The Strategy Group was lead direct mail consultant to Obama for America, and Strategy Group partners served in key roles throughout the campaign.

Founded in 1989, the Strategy Group has been involved in races at all levels of the ballot in over forty states.
