Why? Besides it's a quick and safe place to visit, it's Afghanistan. Polls show that most Canadians want to a withdrawl of troops from Afghanistan. One person against this is Barack Obama. This is test of worldwide popularity Obama kept trying to sell American voters on...
Or...he could be going to smooth over that little NAFTA pot Plouffe stirred up during the primaries.
Lions for Lambs is the film to see about the whole dirty mess with Afghanistan.

It wasn't David Plouffe (which is a very French-Canadian surname btw)... It's Chicago's own Austan Goolsbee
Even with such a short visit planned for tomorrow, President Obama's visit has garnered a great deal of excitement both in Ottawa, as well as throughout Canada.
