Statement from Obama Transition Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer

"At the direction of the President-elect, a review of Transition staff contacts with Governor Blagojevich and his office has been conducted and completed and is ready for release. That review affirmed the public statements of the President-elect that he had no contact with the governor or his staff, and that the President-elect's staff was not involved in inappropriate discussions with the governor or his staff over the selection of his successor as US Senator.

"Also at the President-elect's direction, Gregory Craig, counsel to the Transition, has kept the US Attorney's office informed of this fact-gathering process in order to ensure our full cooperation with the investigation.

"In the course of those discussions, the US Attorney's office requested the public release of the Transition review be deferred until the week of December 22, in order not to impede their investigation of the governor. The Transition has agreed to this revised timetable for release," said Obama Transition Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer.

This is just another example of the professionlism and discipline that has been demonstrated time and time again by the Obama team. Instead of panic and shooting off at the mouth when the mess became a mess, Obama and his people took a step back, deliberated and prepared a response. This not only was helpful as far as getting the facts sorted, but also now we realize it was the legally prudent thing to do. Now his inquiry will not disrupt or otherwise interfere with the criminal investigation.

And for all you nuts out there who are going to scream "Obama's covering stuff up," perhaps you might like to re-read this:

"the US Attorney's office requested the public release of the Transition review be deferred..."

So, please: spare us. Thanking you in advance.

Rahm Emanual appears to have had contact with the govenor or his staff Please, President elect, come clean

What happened to the public's right to know? If it is released at noon on Christmas Eve it will sound suspicious!

"and that the President-elect's staff was not involved in inappropriate discussions with the governor or his staff over the selection of his successor as US Senator."

Didn't Obama say last week that niether him or his staff had talked to Blago. I guess since Rahm has been implicated, the story changed to "inappropriate discussions" with the Govenor.

Why do reporters spend so much time on pursuing pathetic ends to stir up controversy? How much do I care about Chicago/Illnois politics? Not at all. How much do I care about the environment and our surviving on this planet. A lot. Obama is calling on us to change our ways and look into a new future. It's clear that reporters like Lynn Sweet and so many others trying to sell newspapers want to deal with things that are easy for them to think about.

that's right, man. they just 'step back', "prepare" something and 'hope' stuff just goes away. oh yea...speaking of going away, 'the one' will be in hawaii singing 'get on the good foot'come the 22nd. then, who knows? he tried to move into blair house, but 'w' said no go on that.
so, i got an idea.
the oba's team can set up shop on the mall, kind of a re-enactment of the 'poor people's campaign'. he can't see russia from there, but it's close to their embassy.plus, that way he can make up with the jacksons for that non-senate seat train wreck that's got jr. in knots, and make up to the working class for those hedge fund nurse maids he's calling an 'economic team'. yes, yes we can!

why did blago want so much for the f.....g seat? it wasn't used that much, now was it?

WHAT HAPPENED TO DOING WHAT YOU ARE TOLD TO DO,
PRESIDENT-ELECT OBAMA IS NOBODY'S FOOL!

I TOLD YOU GUYS TO STOP PLAYING GOTCHA POLITICS!
THE MAN IS SMART, AND I MEAN BOOK AND STREET

THE CHIEF OF STAFF WANTED THE JOB FOR JARRETT!
