The unemployed I know will be eating Christmas dinner at the soup kitchen.
These people will be looking forward to a big bash and a variety of parties in washington on Inauguration.
The General public has never had it so hard or seen such dired straights, The wealthy are still living high off the hog.

The funds being donated are not being shredded and tossed in the lake. They will be put into the economy to hire people and pay for services (that hire people) in the next few months. All of those people probably appreciate greatly the work provided.
