I noticed that the letter is addressed to Gov. Rod in Springfield. With Rod never in Springfield, Obama could still be our Senator this time next year!!

Just why is it that anyone would want to print this and keep it? For all of the five minutes of being a Senator President-Elect Obama gave us? This is absolutely hilarious. Wow, remember when Senator Obama missed this vote? Remeber when Senator Obama was late for that meeting? Remember everything Senator Obama accomplished in the Senate for Illinois...Oh, that's right, he never did anything for Illinois other than run for President.

Seriously. Whats with all the obamaganda? He's better than George Bush but hes far from being a profit. Being black, handsome, and new doesnt make the countries problems go away.

Mike, your candor is far from refreshing. I'd like to see you run for senator then win presidency ;]

I think the best thing Mr. Obama has done for Illinois is run for and accomplished becoming the next U.S. President, and that's probably better than say, missing a meeting or being late for one?

Thats got to be the niftiest "I'm resigning because...." letter I've ever seen.

Bitter much?

Mike I'm so glad that you pointed all that NONSENSE out, let's see how much he helps AMERICA
the days we are living in, it can't get any worse. But I'm sure you voted to further sink us riding on McLame

This letter is one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

All you sad, small-minded haters need to grow up and realize history is happening all around you. Real leaders are stepping up and making things happen, and you're still typing away in sad little missives on the Internet.

Campaign is over. He's prez elect. Remind him what we WANT.
Not biofuels.
Not unsafe nukes.
Not 3 years more of war and killing civilians.
We WANT
patents freed up so we can have some technology other than what the auto execs and the oil execs want--
we WANT foreign policy not dictated by these PIRATES.
Leave Mike alone.
I was pretty disappointed in his senatorial record--but he knew he could not lead in that position and so he wanted out.
He's not the first, Mike.
But people shouldn't jump onyou, either.

Hey Mike and other like minds,

We elected a new President not a magician. Barack isn't going to pull any rabbits out of his hat. We all had enough of that from behind the bushes.

Mike and Missy I bet that both of you voted for McCain/Palin. I also bet that both of you make less then the $250k each year, so you are still not part of that class that would have been safe from the tax cuts, I'm sure if you get a tax break from Obama, you wont be so quick to state he was late for a meeting or missed a vote. Grow up and accept WHO AMERICA voted for!

PROPHET, THAT'S HOW YOU SPELL WHAT YOU WERE LOOK-
ING FOR, AND HE IS NOT A PROPHET, HE IS THE 44TH
PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!
WHY CAN'T SOMEONE SAY, HE RAN A GREAT CAMPAIGN,
WHY CAN'T SOMEONE SAY, THAT FOX NEWS THREW EVERY-
THING BUT THE KITCHEN SINK AT HIM BUT HE HANDLED
HIMSELF VERY WELL!
WHY CAN'T SOMEONE SAY HE WAS THE SMARTER OF THE
TWO MEN IN THE CAMPAIGN!
YOU GUYS CAN CONTINUE TO THROW STONES, JUST MAKE
SURE YOUR GLASS HOUSE DOESN'T GET FORECLOSED ON
YOU, PRESIDENT-ELECT OBAMA IS A GOOD, FAMILY MAN,
AND HE IS A MAN WHO IS LOOKING FORWARD TO LEADING
US TO BETTER DAYS, GIVE THE MAN THE CHANCE TO
MAKE YOUR LIFE BETTER AS WELL, I AM!

There is more substance to this letter than all the legislation he NEVER wrote during his time in the Senate.

But he did write four books.

Do not not fear critical comments about our candidate, all caps man.
And don't go wishing bad luck on people who disagree with you.
Glass house foreclosres could only happen to members of oligarchy.

thank you for the post. i agree there is more substance in this letter of all legislation during his time!
