Rev. Jeremiah Wright and Obama ads surface in Florida, Pennsylvania

JACKSONVILLE, FL.--While John McCain told his campaign not to make an issue of Barack Obama's association with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, he could not control GOP allies. Some GOP analysts have said McCain lost an opportunity to hit Obama on a significant vunerability by ruling out using Wright. I saw a spot slamming Obama's relationship with Wright Monday morning on cable here in Florida funded by the National Republica Trust political action committee titled "He never complained once." A Wright ad, bankrolled by another group, is running in Pennsylvania.

Obama and Wright: He Never Complained Once
30 Second Ad

For 20 years Barack Obama followed a preacher of hate and said nothing is Wright raged against our country.

[Clip of Rev. Wright:] "Not God Bless America, God Damn America . . . US of KKKA!"

[Quote of Obama appears on screen:] "I don't think my church is particularly controversial."

He built his power base in Wright's church.

Wright was his mentor, adviser and close friend.

For 20 years Obama never complained until he ran for President.

Barack Obama. Too radical. Too risky.

Let's just hope that the people of this country will not be swayed at the last minute because this is their last racist attempt to divide our nation. It's time to honor our cultural diversity and move into another era of American History.

If anybody is racist its Obama's mentor Rev. Wright. If you are denying that then you are truly blind.

the us gov invented AIDS for the purpose of poisoning blacks???? this is what the guy said!!

So the Republican smear and fear machine is still in high gear. They know they lose on real issue so they go after something like this. I suppose they waited till the last minute to try to avoid being countered. I assume Mccain didn't want this brought up earlier because of his past associations with the likes of Keating and G. Gordon Liddy. I just realized why Mccain likes Joe the plumber so much. He used to have a close relationship with "Gordon the (Watergate) Plumber". Then there is Sarah Palin's "witch hunter" pastor. People who live in 7 or 8 glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

Let's just hope that the people of this country will see Obama for the two-faced phony that he really is.

Jimmie, I agree..America needs to move on, the problem is..Obama was a member in a racist church for TWENTY years. The problem is, when McCain supporters speak out, question ur candidate they are called racist. Thats the problem, and America needs to see the truth. Lets hope that Americans will not b swayed by deceit, lies, and a pretty speech. There are numerous PUBLIC examples of Obama's TRUE character..from his calling PA ppl bible thumpn, gun toting rednecks, to Michelle Obama saying America is a hateful country, to Obama saying he is going to bankrupt the coal industry. To numerous to name. Look it up, research. America is waking up/standing up.
Obama speaks out of both sides of his mouth. I look forward to the future, when there is a honest black candidate that I can get behind and support. Regardless of party. America needs to get past that yes, also a woman President. I want one who is HONEST, trustworthy with ability to lead.

I like some of Obama's ideas. I would have voted for him, but how can you go to a church for such a long time with those radial opinions of Mr. Wright's and not have some influence on his way of thinking? Why didn't he speak up before or attend a different church that preaches peace, acceptance and tollerance of others. Our diversity in America is what makes us strong. Voting for Obama is a risk I'm not sure I want to take. I am not that fond of McCain either as I do not want four more years of Bush like politics. I wish Powell would have ran for President instead of Obama. That is a candidate I would feel comfortable supporting. Unfortunately, it has been a while since we have had a good leader run for President.

Desperation will take the low road every time. Change is never easy; there are always going to be those that resist. Hopefully, Obama will win even the most racist of them over in the end with his tolerance and ideals.

Obama all the way!

They're also running this ad in Michigan.
I saw this ad on MSNBC this afternoon around 1 PM

Strange desperation ads. So late in the election cycle. Does not McCain has a pastor/preacher controversy also. These ads may just have the reverse effect and further sink McCain campaign.

Honestly, I think the Republican party has done more damage to their own image by spreading lies about Obama.

I am so sick of the fearmongering attacks.

Why is calling a candidate out on attending a church that preaches the hatred of America a "racist" attack? It's about time that this information came to light to uninformed voters, may who vote simply based on political party rather than platform issues.

Okay - so they have 1 or 2 comments from the Rev. What about the other 52 Sundays per year per 20 years of sermons. I'm sure - they could have found more if Rev wright was such an "America Hater". If we think of it, he's right - we Americans have become Greedy - Selfish & foolish - The main thing God did not want and Hates. Shame on us....

BTW - I almost forgot that Rev. Wright has been the pastor at Trinity since 1972. That's 36 years for a man who has been cast as a "preacher of hate." Never mind the fact that Trinity has been unrivaled in the southside of Chicago for it outreach programs for the disadvantaged, has mobilized youth, and made a significant impact in its community, encouraging several high profile celebs to join its congregation. It should also be noted that Rev. Wright resigned in February 2008 and is no longer the pastor at Trinity, so what is the purpose of these inaccurate ads other than divisiveness, to tear down a good man, and preaching hate?

THE MAN ISN'T A RACIST, HE IS A VETERAN, HE IS A
MARINE, HE DIDN'T TAKE THE DEFERMENT WAY OUT, HE
WORKED IN THE OPERATING ROOMS AT WALTER REED!
THE MAN HAS PREACHED FOR OVER 40 YEARS, FOX NEWS
STARTED THIS CRUSADE WHICH IS A LIE, THE MAN
MIGHT HAVE WENT OUT ON A LIMB AT THE NATIONAL
PRESS CLUB BUT HE WAS VERY UPSET, OBAMA HAD TO
SEPARATE FROM HIM, BUT EVERYONE KNOWS WHAT REV.
WRIGHT HAS DONE IN HIS LIFE, HE HASN'T MURDERED
ANYONE, HE ISN'T WANTED BY THE LAW, HE IS RESPECT
ED ALL OVER THE COUNTRY AND DIFFERENT PARTS OF
THE WORLD!
THEY TOOK SNIPPETS, IF THEY TAKE SNIPPETS OF MY
LIFE, I GUESS I WOULD BE HUNG FROM A YARDARM!
OBAMA IS THE MAN WITH THE PLAN!

Obama didn't go the same church for twenty years because of Rev. Wright. People walk thru the same church doors over and over again for the community within a community that the church creates. They watch young people mature into adults, and adults age into elderly senior citizens. They share losses and struggle thru life together. They go for the unity of belief in a faith that the church represents. I have many friends who are Catholic and were devestated and humiliated by the Catholic Church sex nightmare and even though I am an athiest, I didn't think they had "charecter flaws" because they are still Catholics.

Sheila, that church is NOT racist. Read about the liberation theology movement in the
Catholic Church that achieved status after the Conference at Medellin after Vatican II. That's what Black Liberation Theology is based upon. It is a preferential dispensation for the poor--or as they said in Nicaragua during the Sandinista Revolution and later BONAFIDE, LEGITIMATE GOVERNMENT--reading from the poor's book.
And if you LOOK at and LISTEN to the ENTIRE CONTEXT of Wright's speech--there's really nothing much objectionable. He has a style that is flamboyant and VERY entertaining.
That seems to be the whole objection. Wright is not just steak but very packagable sizzle. That's why he's popular.

Thanks for this video, it changed my mind and I voted for McCain this afternoon because of it. It also changed the minds of my family and friends who also will vote for McCain this afteroon. That Rev. Wright is a scary man saying all those things. He seems somewhat racist.

REV WRIGHT LOVES YOU FL VOTER, AND YOU VOTED FOR
A LOSER!
TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE!
VOTE WITH YOUR HEART NOT FOR FOX NEWS!

As a afro-american woman, i find it so displeasing and tasteless that this nation sent alot of racial tension since it has been founded. If us as a people do our research and find the truth...life wouldn't be about the color of your skin. Can anyone here say anything truly bad about the truth besides it hurts, we spend so much of our lives in denial of whats going on in us and around us. A preacher who speaks the truth and a congregation who listens make them radicals(WOW what IS this world coming to)I was ery disappointed when Obama stop associating himself with his paster. I have no religion, i believe we were all created equal, no one is better than the next, its about how bad you want something. No one can speak for the next, how i feel might not be how you feel so why must i take the fall for agreeing to disagree. Search for the truth and it will set you free. Mind Over Matter. Peace
