Rahm Emanuel weighing Obama chief of staff offer: AP

Democratic officials say Illinois Rep. Rahm Emanuel has been offered the job of chief of staff in the administration of President-elect Barack Obama.

It is not known whether Emanuel has accepted.

The disclosure came one day after Obama was elected president in an electoral college landslide. He takes office Jan. 20 as the first black president, and the 44th overall.

Emanuel is a former aide in Bill Clinton┬╣s White House. He was re-elected to Congress on Tuesday.

as long as he doesn't hire that looser from the 10th cong dist...lol. this poor guy takes a dixie twice...back to back, then comes on tv and literally ask the oba for a gig!! wha?
rahm is a fine operative, but he's a 'war-time consiglieri', so to speak, and he knows where the john is in the white house. but does 'the one' need such sharp elbows inside the lodge...or up on the hill?

Well, so much for the "Change" promise. This has to be the quickest dropping of promises in election history, selecting a divider like Emanuel, and taking old style Chicago politics to Washington. He was the one making a list of enemies after the Clinton election, calling each out by name, saying "smith....dead!"

Why did I vote for Barak again?

RAHM WILL BE A GREAT CHIEF OF STAFF LEADER AND HELP PUSH THE OBAMA AGENDA. HE KNOWS THE PROCESS VERY WELL. WHAT ABOUT A HISPANIC FOR HIS 5TH DISTRICT SEAT OR US SEAT. JOE BERRIOS YOUR THE PARTY BOSS CONVICE YOUR FOLLOW DEMOCRATIC LEADERS THEY VOTED IN RECORD NUMBERS.

IT'S A DONE DEAL!
AMERICA JUST BE PATIENT AND YOU WILL SEE A MIGHTY
CHANGE, DON'T PANIC DON'T JUMP OFF THE BRIDGE,
JUST HANG IN THERE, IT WILL GET BETTER, IT'S
ALWAYS DARKEST BEFORE THE DAWN!
