WASHINGTON--The Republican National Committee is hosting a conference call right now outlining the Federal Election Commission complaint it will file Monday accusing the Obama campaign of taking contributions from foreign nationals who are banned by U.S. law from giving to U.S. federal candidates.

"A wide scale problem for the Obama campaign," said RNC Chief Counsel Sean Cairncross.

UPDATE
The Obama team said McCain has his own problem with foreign donors.

From the Obama campaign.....

"Because of campaign finance issues, John McCain has had to return over $1.2 million to donors who potentially violated the law with their contributions. We look forward to a thorough investigation into whether John McCain's campaign has returned all of the money it raised from foreign nationals, as they have admitted McCain-bundler Harry Sergeant has done. Without accepting a dime from the Washington lobbyists or corporate PACs that have funded John McCain's campaign, our campaign has shattered fundraising records with donations from more than 2.5 million Americans. We have gone above and beyond the transparency requirements by disclosing our bundlers and the levels of contributions they raise. We constantly review our donors for any issues and while no organization is completely protected from internet fraud, we will continue to review our fundraising procedures to ensure that we are taking every available to step to root-out improper contributions," said Obama-Biden spokesman Bill Burton.

The McCain campaign has refunded more than $1.2 million: According to the FEC reports filed by McCain 2008, the campaign has refunded to donors $1,231,005.16. [McCain 2008 FEC reports: total of transactions on line SB28 (contribution refunds) designated for the P2008 (primary 2008) election]

In August, McCain refunded $50,000 solicited by a foreign national, possibly contributed by foreign nationals: In August 2008, McCain's campaign refunded about $50,000 in donations solicited by Jordanian Mustafa Abu Naba'a, acknowledging questions "about how much a foreign national may have contributed." Other donors were sent a letter "reminding them that it is illegal for a foreign national to contribute to a U.S. political campaign." Independent Group Files Complaint Over McCain Raising Money from Foreign Nationals: "A watchdog group said Monday it filed a complaint with U.S. election officials over a fundraiser Republican presidential hopeful John McCain held in London. Judicial Watch argues that providing a venue for the event free of charge was an illegal in-kind contribution from two foreign nationals, The Hill reported. The newspaper identified the two donors only as Lord Rothschild OM GBE and The Honorable Nathaniel Rothschild." Is that desparation I smell coming fron the RNC?

Poor RNC just like whiny kids when you can't have your way at a successful election strategy start investigating!!!!!! what's next?

OBAMA/BIDEN 08

POOR, POOR GOP Losers! It's about time you evil people crash and burn. Take it like the men you are!

I have an old kitchen sink in the grass behind my garage. If the Republican National Committee would like to come pick it up, they then can throw it at Obama along with anything else they wish. None of it - absolutely NONE of it - is going to find its target. Desperation sure does bring out the nastiness in Repugnicants, but to no avail, alas! Do your worst, poor babies! This time - THIS time - there is not a chance of it working.

Governor Palin, can you tell the audience the definition of a Red Herring? "You betcha, that's my favorite dish."

The point is not whether this is a fact; there won't be a ruling until after the election. The point of this is to create a story. Making up a false accusation is no problem for the mavericky McCain campaign. They are too mavericky to be bound by the rules of normal social discourse, wink wink.

THE SCANDALOUS REPUBLICAN PARTY WILL STOOP TO ANY LEVEL TO START A DIRTY POLITICAL TRICK UP THEIR SLEEVE IN THE MEANEST FEAR-MONGERING ...DISGUSTING...

yuo filthy no good commie I knew you were cheating obama

It's interesting how most of your column is spent giving Obama's campaign the opportunity to rebut the McCann charge while saying virtually nothing about the substance of the complaint against Obama
nor the fact that McCann reports the source of all contributions while Obama only reports the bare legal minimum which allows him to cover illegal foreign contributions.

All you brave principled Democrats out there -- what have you got to say about this?

"Secret, Foreign Money Floods into Obama Campaign"
by Ken Timmerman

Or is this just another ploy by the Right?

"I will not allow facts to stand in the way of foregone conclusions."

"If the facts don't fit the theory, so much worse for the facts."

Sounds like someone is getting nervous. What with the court ordered production of Obama's birth certificate, about to be decided. And Obama's 200 million in illegal contributions about to hit the news. It's going to be a rocky month for zero.

Well its time that Obama give back the money. He hasn't fully disclosed where the contributions have come from. According to OpenSecrets Obama's records are incomplete and the FEC chairman has even stated it as of yesterday that Obamas campaign contributions paper work was incomplete.

Obama's not smart he just believes no one will come after him. But he's wrong. He's not ready to lead this nation and he's not ready to face his past. He's very scared right now. The truth is coming and he can't stop it now.

The response from the Obama campaign states that they aren't endorsed by a PAC. Thats a LIE.

ACORN has endorsed Obama and he accepted. They have raised over 1.2million dollars for his campaign and he also has 19 lobbyist that work in his campaign staff.

Over at Atlasshrugs they've been looking at Obama donations since mid-July --it's not only foreign donations ($200 million) that come into question, domestic donations also.

AND there is the question of Obama's long time friends ACORN who are being cited in 5 or 6 states for voter registration fraud. That must be investigated! It's a pattern and it's happened in other elections too. They were also part of the subprime lending fiasco.

BUT the worst is this:

FEC better get busy- we want a fair election.

I think the only solution is for the candidates themselves to come off the campaign trail and inspect each and every donation themselves for authenticity. No, wait, that means we wouldn't have time to get to know them... and then, well, we wouldn't contribute in the first place.

Oh! What a dilemma.

We're 3 weeks out, and as McCain drifts further out into questionable reality, and seemingly closer to a likely defeat, where is that famed patriotism? Shouldn't he be uniting and not dividing? I digress.

What say we put me in a room with all the money and I figure out not only where it is coming, but where it will go. ~.^

Why does the corrupt political machine of Chicago have to push its corruption on the entire US. Campaign reform, open and fair elections with valid registrations and campaign financing are being subverted by Obama and Acorn. Transporting folks from Chicago to Ohio and Illinois to register and vote? Accepting and soliciting money from overseas does question Obama's loyalty to America. Now I understand why he campaigned in Europe, it was a fund raiser. Get ready for Chavez and Mugabe style politics brought to you by the Chicago political machine. A foul smell is blowing from the Windy City.

It figures the libtards are condoning The Master cheater Obama and the lying Democrap Congress. Where is Shrieker Pelosi screaming for an investigation? crickets......

JOHN MCCAIN FORMER NAVY PILOT, WAR HERO, WHO LOST
WITH DISGRACE, CAUSED BY HIS INVOLVEMENT WITH
KARL ROVE, HE REALLY LET AMERICA DOWN!
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE MAVERICK, WHAT HAPPENED TO
THE GUY WHO REACHED ACROSS THE AISLE, ONLY GOD
KNOWS, AMERICA DON'T VOTE FOR A GUY WHO FLIP
FLOPS HIS PERSONALITY SO MUCH!
DON'T VOTE FOR A GUY WHO USES A WOMAN FROM ALASKA
WHO DOESN'T KNOW WHAT SHE READS OR READ IN ALASKA
AMERICA VOTE FOR THE MAN WHO RAN THE BEST
CAMPAIGN, HIS NAME STARTS WITH AN O!

More smoke and mirros - This article and the spokeperson NEVER addresses the point. Has Obama received illegal contributions? If so, has he returned them? If there were any funds received from hostile countries instead of refunding the contributions, donate the funds to the widow and childrens fund of our slain military. Let their corrupt and evil money do some good. That would be justice.
