Obama co-chair Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. refutes dad Rev. Jackson comments on Israel

NEW YORK--This aggravation Barack Obama did not need--an incendiary quote from the Rev. Jesse Jackson about Israel as he is struggling to lock in support from Jewish voters, especially in the key battleground state of Florida, where his campaign just sent out a special mailing to Jewish voters pegged to Rosh Hashonah and Yom Kippur.

The Tuesday New York Post reported "Jackson believes that, although "Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades" remain strong, they'll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House."

His son, Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) on Wednesday morning refuted the comments his father made while in France at the World Economic Forum.

"I know that under a Barack Obama presidency, the United States of America's relationship with Israel will remain rock-solid, strong and unshakable. Barack Obama is committed to maintaining and strengthening the special bond between our two countries, born of our shared values as well as our common interests."

This is the third time during the long Obama campaign that Rep. Jackson felt compelled to address statement made by his father.

from the Jackson campaign....

CONGRESSMAN JACKSON DEFENDS OBAMA AND ISRAEL
RESPONDS TO NEW YORK POST REPORT

Congressman Jesse L. Jackson, Jr. today released the following statement in reaction to a New York Post article about Reverend Jackson's remarks at the World Policy Forum.

"I know that under a Barack Obama presidency, the United States of America's relationship with Israel will remain rock-solid, strong and unshakable. Barack Obama is committed to maintaining and strengthening the special bond between our two countries, born of our shared values as well as our common interests.

"As the vice-chair of the House Foreign Operations Appropriations Subcommittee, I've traveled to Israel and seen firsthand the threats to its security. I'm eager to work with the new administration and the new Congress to ensure that Israel remains strong, secure and free."

In his seventh term, Congressman Jesse L. Jackson, Jr. serves as the Vice-Chair of the Subcommittee on State, Foreign Operations and Related Programs, which is responsible for providing foreign assistance. He also is a co-chair of Barack Obama's presidential campaign.

Obama...is he the ANTICHRIST??? Can you believe we have a Presidential candidate that forces people to wonder?

Why is Jesse Jackson Sr. doing this? Why does he continue to mention Barack Obama's name? Especially in an unflattering light?

He has to be jealous that Barack will possibly accomplish something that he has no chance to do. Jesse Jackson Sr. is diliberately trying to furhter tarnish the image of Barack Obama for his personal, selfish gratification.

Get over yourself, Jesse! You are a disgrace, and no one cares about the role you played 40 years ago anymore. Not because of Barack Obama, but because of you and your shinannigans.

brink...is indicative of the stupidity of the CONSERVATIVE VOTER??? Can you believe we have a poster that forces people to wonder?

that would be "from the obama campaign?"

Brink is an idiot.

Obama, the AntiChrist?? Are you serious? Obama couldn't hold Jesse's jock strap! That's like putting Steve Urkel up against Rampage Jackson!! For the true Ominous Parallel, go to thenextstrike.com.

"Obama...is he the ANTICHRIST??? Can you believe we have a Presidential candidate that forces people to wonder?"

Why is Jesse Jackson Sr. doing this?

Kim, when slighted while no longer the go-to media darling and jealously is added that is a combustible mixture. Now ADD that with a HUGE EGO and the union of the three is lethal.

Instead of Mr. Jackson focusing more of his time on re-organizing Operation Push for the 21st century, his MOUTH gets in the way of his common sense.

IGNORE Jesse Sr. - it sucks to be him now!

I totally agree with the one who stated jackson is jealous.. He can't stand the idea that he is not on that podium.. He's getting the hoof-in-mouth syndrome and needs to be lead to a shed and locked up. He's losing his mind with envy. I respected him at one time.. but no more. He is CRAZY

Rev. Jesse Jackson is so jealous and bitter that can't see straight.

He is deliberately sabotaging Obama's campaign. Once is a mistake, twice is questionable, but three times is clearly a deliberate attempt to smear Obama's name and throw a wrench into the campaign.

I used to have respwct for Rev. Jackson (and actually volunteered for his first presidential campaign while I was too young to vote), but his limelight-seeking actions, his anti-semitism, and his disregard for the future of this country is sickening to me.

Hey Renee, you better enjoy your freedom of speech now because it's only a matter of time before you will loose it under an Obama socialism society...GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS AMERICA. GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Ok, Jesse Jackson, Sr., is not a supporter or advisor of Mr. Obama, so, he do not make a difference in our lives. We should not fall to racist comments, Mr. Obama is an American citizen and a christian, so let keep it professional.

Jesse Jackson Sr. is jealous. He was never qualified to be president but his ego was so big he thought he was. Now he sees an African-American not himself who is qualified and who is going to win and he can't stand it.

Just shut up JJ Sr. You are old history and meaningless. Stop sabotaging Obama and your son, who unlike you has run for office and won and has a political future. What a mean bitter old man you have become.

Jackson Sr. has done quite a bit, but he is jealous... He probably won't be invited to a cabinet position and he is indeed hurting not only for his own comments but from repudiation by his namesake.

Jesse Jackson Sr was jealous of MLK and now Obama!

Gee, he is only hurting himself. Old news and wash up JJ Sr.

Jesse Jackson Sr is on to something [he's waving a red flag!]that the American Jewish Community needs to pay attention to,Obama is a muslim! and muslims want to kill every Jew and Christian! The American people are being set up for defeat!
. The democratic party is taking us back into bondage. Socialism!

Mother taught us as children that if we didn't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all! Why does Jesse Jackson Sr. always manage to spew such hateful remarks that have no merit? Read your bible Jesse, "Judge not, lest ye be judged". Kudos to your son, he's a good man; standing up for what is right.

A Life Time of Poor Values has finally been exposed. It is amazing to beleive that JJ SR was on his way to lead this proud and powerful nation. At least we know that Someone upstairs is watching over us and protecting us from the enemy within.

JJ SR
During his time when he was running for president blacks and whites were still devided and still racism was going on. Racism is still around today. So time wasn't on JJ SR side. So don't condemmed the man. But I feel that he does amired barack accomplishment. But he wish it was him instead. And that is reasonable for any human being feeling like that. Don't forget that JJ SR is from the older generation!!!!!!!!!!!!! So leave the man alone
He is happy for borack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
