Obama back in Denver, minus Greek columns

Sunday briefing from Obama travel press Jen Psaki....

Barack Obama will hold a Change We Need Rally in Civic Center Park in Denver, Colorado tomorrow morning. Governor Bill Ritter, Senator Ken Salazar and Congressman Mark Udall will all participate in the program. This is Barack Obama's second trip to Denver since he clinched the nomination.

Barack Obama will hold a Change We Need Rally in Fort Collins at Colorado State University tomorrow afternoon. This is his 1st trip to Fort Collins since he clinched the nomination.

He will make a local stop en route to the Denver Airport. Wayne Slater, Dallas Morning News will be the print pooler. CNN will pool for TV.

This is Barack Obama's 5th trip to Colorado since he clinched the nomination in June.

Early voting in Colorado began on October 20th and runs through October 31st.

George W. Bush won the state's 9 electoral votes in 2004 by a margin of 5 percentage points with 51.7% of the vote, considerably less than the 9% margin by which he won in 2000. Democrats also gained in every open seat race in the state in 2004, picking up a seat in the Senate and the House of Representatives. In 2006, the Democrats gained the majority in both the House and Senate and elected a Democratic governor.

BARACK OBAMA WILL WIN THE GREAT STATE OF COLORADO

Oh but there will be Greek columns! Civic Center Park is set up like a partial Parthenon and is usually filled with homeless people.

Im sure the democrats will just do what they did at the DNC, and send the homeless to the zoo for the day.

What time is this speech?

Wondering if it will be televised locally. My wife is there and she 'told' me to record it.

Shannon is right. Plenty of columns in the park - it looks a bit like the stage actually. and yes its "in transition" as the gentrifiers say :)

I certainly hope we carries our state too. Here in Colorado we worked very hard to make sure Democrats and indies got out and registered, and are pushing the importance of their vote here.

The century old Civic Center Park is located right across the street from the State Capitol Building in Denver. Although one of many parks in a town that has more municipal parks that any other city in the country, it is a landmark event hub of government and culture in Colorado. It is true that in this 2 full downtown block area you can see a few unfortunate homeless individuals from time to time. However, today it will be filled to the brim with 50k+ voters in support of change with a Greek Amphitheatre and all!

I'm a 'sixties radical who has never - until now - voted in any election. I voted early this year for Barack Obama. I was at his speech in Denver this morning. A huge crowd; I haven't seen any estimates yet, but it was a very impressive and enthusiastic turnout on a perfectly sunny day. Fantastic speech!

OVER 100,000 people!!!! Largest (US) rally yet.

LOOKED LIKE CLOSE TO 200,000 PEOPLE TO ME!
IF EVERYONE VOTES, COLORADO GOES TO BARACK OBAMA!

Instead of bashing either party, open your mind and see which candidate is using the nastiest tactics to win your vote and which one is sticking to the topics that need to be addressed.
Get educated about both candidates and don't just be opinionated, nasty, and one sided because you are a Republican or a Democrat. Amazing how people can be so ignorant and not focus on the topics that are so important today. Who will lead this country the best. Obama has my vote!

THE GOP DOESN'T WANT TO TALK ABOUT THE ISSUES!
ISN'T GEORGE W. BUSH ONE OF THEM?
ISN'T MCCAIN ONE OF THEM?
NOW YOU HAVE A WAR GOING ON BETWEEN PALIN AND
MCCAIN, PALIN IS LOOKING DOWN THE ROAD, AND MCCAIN
HAS RUN OUT OF ROAD!
PALIN IS GOING TO LEARN YOU DON'T MESS WITH THE
GOP AND DON'T HAVE IT BITE YOU WHERE YOU DON'T
ITCH, SHE IS PLAYING WITH THE WRONG BOYS!
BARACK OBAMA HAS RUN THE BETTER CAMPAIGN, HE OUT-
SMARTED MCCAIN AND THE GOP AND ROVE EVERY TIME
THEY THOUGHT THEY HAD HIM IN A CORNER, HE SHOWED
SAVY AND NOT ONLY GOT OUT OF THE CORNER, BUT HE
MADE MOVES THEY COULDN'T HANDLE!
THAT'S WHY HE IS THE BEST MAN TO HANDLE THINGS
THE NEXT 4 TO 8 YEARS, HE IS SMART, HE IS A COOL
CUSTOMER AND HE IS BUILT FOR THE POSITION!
AMERICA WE HAVE OUR NEXT PRESIDENT!
