I sincerely hope that Obama's administration will consider qualified exoffenders for federal government jobs and for small business loans. Currently, all of the programs in place are geared for exoffenders with little education and little work history.
The exoffenders that are educated with a continuous work history are ignored. After one pays for their crime they are released and placed in a prison without bars. It is impossible to be considered for federal employment even with the Department of Justice!!! With every door shut......including avenues to start your own business.
Based on my research, the U K is so far ahead of the U S for effective programs for qualified exoffenders.
I welcome the opportunity to speak with someone from President Elect Obama's Transition Team. I have developed a program for qualified exoffenders that would benefit them...and society as a whole.
