WASHINGTON--Michelle Obama filled in for Barack Obama at big rallies in Ohio on Friday while Obama visited his ailing grandmother back in Honolulu, who lives in the same apartment he lived in as a teen.

Michelle on Saturday delivers the regular Democratic radio address.

Obama in Friday spent time with his grandmother and then went for a solitary walk around his old neighborhood, with a Secret Service agent trailing behind him,

Obama was wearing a black short sleeve shirt, Levis, sandals and sunglasses.

I'm so glad Barack Obama chose to go home now and be with his loved grandmother. It makes my heart grow bigger for this man and his strength, and passionate commitment.
I hope the press will be respectful of his time now, and I look forward to voting for our next President of the United States: President Barack Obama.

According to CC Goldwater:

Being Barry Goldwater's granddaughter and living in Arizona, one would expect that I would be voting for our state's senator, John McCain. My siblings, a few cousins and I, will not be supporting the Republican presidential candidates this year. We believe strongly in what our grandfather stood for: honesty, integrity, personal freedom and free from political maneuvering and fear tactics. I think that Obama has shown his ability and integrity. After the last eight years, there's a lot of clean -up to do.

michelle I think is doing agreat job.by always showing that she is a bright woman.and is always true to who she is keep up the good work. and I pray for your family.

Why is Michelle Obama not in Honolulu with Barack if her grandmother-in-law is "gravely" ill? If it were my grandmother I would have all my family by her death bed. Also, I have seen Obama’s tax returns and he made quite a bit of money from his books (millions), so why has Obama not ponied up some money and bought his grandmother a house, so she doesn't have to live in the same apartment? I would.

Anonymous- why don't you keep your d-bag comments on those repugnant blogs you so gleefully troll, instead of polluting a dignified and tragic story with your ignorant insinuations.
Peace be with Toots. I hope she get's to see Obama get elected, for all our sakes.

I truely believe Michelle will be a great first Lady. She is a woman with dignity and grace and I for one will be proud to call her the First Lady! Prayers to the Obama family.

I think that Michelle Obama is a great First Lady! She really does bring people together and listen to her. I think that the only person who could out do her would be Oprah Winfrey. :-)
