RELEASE FROM THE OBAMA CAMPAIGN
VICE PRESIDENT AL GORE AND TIPPER GORE CAMPAIGN IN FLORIDA AT EARLY VOTE FOR CHANGE RALLIES
TAMPA - Former Vice President Al Gore and his wife Tipper will campaign in Florida on FRIDAY, October 31, at Early Vote for Change rallies in West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale. Vice President Gore endorsed Barack Obama for President during a campaign rally in Detroit, Michigan in June. He has been a staunch opponent of the failed policies of President Bush that John McCain wants to continue.
"Eight years ago, Florida and the nation embarked down a failed path," said Obama State Director Steve Schale. "This time, Floridians are hungry to right our ship and help set America on a new course by electing Barack Obama and Joe Biden. Nobody knows better that every single vote counts - especially in Florida - than Vice President Al Gore, who will be encouraging Florida voters to Early Vote in record numbers so no amount of chads, butterflies or undervotes can stand between Floridians and the change we need."
The Obama Campaign has taken steps this year to make sure that all Floridians who want to vote and are eligible to do so will have their voices heard, their vote counted, and can rely on the integrity of the voting system. Florida voters should feel confident that the necessary steps have been taken to run an effective voting process. The campaign is encouraging Floridians to vote early to avoid any concerns that might arise.
Early voting hours have now been extended and will run from 7am to 7pm in most counties. Early voting in Florida began Monday, October 20th, and continues through Saturday, November 1st (November 2nd in a few counties). All voters are permitted to cast their ballots at any designated early voting location in their county, regardless of where they live. For specific voting times and locations, visit www.voteforchange.com or call 1-877-2FL-OBAMA.
