Sarah Palin, Michelle Obama in People Magazine

WASHINGTON--Sarah Palin and Michelle Obama each has an eye-stopping style and fashion sense. Palin's style is featured in the new People Magazine; Michelle is included as one of the "10 Best Dressed" in the issue. This is part of People's "Best and Worst Dressed of 2008" package. And on a related Palin matter...People has an article on how the wig was made to give Tina Fey her updo twin sister Palin look for her celebrated skit with Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton on NBC's "Saturday Night Live."

WHEN DOES A SOCCER MOM WEAR A 25OO DOLLAR TOP!
JUST ASKING?

Why do you people lie all the time? She didn't have any taste in clothing before and the proof is in looking at all the previous photos. She is clearly being dressed by the McCain campaign staff. Even her eyeglasses were changed by the staff. Do you really think she footed the bill for the outfit, and is footing the bill till the elections? Apparently the voter DONATIONS are paying for her clothes! I'd be outraged if I were a Republican. She never dreamed of wearing Valentino before. Just look at that supermarket photo of her wearing that hideous pink top of a disaster over cheap tights. Mags are quite sickening with all the propaganda they promote. Who gives a hoot. The issues are what matter and this woman clearly does not represent women in mainland America, a country she rarely visits. This is the lady who flew back to Alaska to have her baby born there and risk his birth to have him born there in case Alaska Secedes!

Good Question!

Michelle Obama's clothes are from her own closet and is truly her style.

Palin's recent (clothing) style looks campaign "managed".

Sarah Palin is awesome...she is smart and beautifull at the same time

Michele Obama is kind of ugly, very big, and looks down on people..she thinks that she is better then most people

Michelle Obama dress(es) very classy and elegant. She bring a diverse of energy with her selection that most woman can relate to which shows Michelle's beauty inside and out.

I can go to Macy's anytime and buy a suit.

DEAR CRISTINA, YOUR BOY MCCAIN IS ON TV RIGHT NOW
HE IS STILL HAVING TROUBLE READING FROM A
TELEPROMPTER, HE IS A DAY LATE AND A DOLLAR SHORT,
OKAY HIS WIFE ISN'T A DOLLAR SHORT, BUT HE IS!
HE IS STILL TALKING CRAZY, HE KNOWS OBAMA ISN'T
GOING TO RAISE TAXES ON THE MIDDLE CLASS, BUT HIS
WIFE AND THE OTHERS WHO MAKE OVER 250,000 DOLLARS,
JOHN TALK LIKE YOU WALK!
BASICALLY HE SOUNDS A LITTLE DESPERATE!
LOSING HAS THAT AFFECT ON A PERSON!

They're both beautiful and smart. Frankly, what does fashion have to do with ability to lead a nation? And if it did, let's not forget Michelle is the wife of a man running for office- and can look the part. Sarah is on the ticket...she has to have a professional look. Another thing, for those who aren't aware, Michelle has a designer who custom makes clothes for her, at least for the past year.

Palin is a phony. Michelle is genuine.

What you perceive about Michelle says more about you than it does about her ("looks down on people and thinks she's better than most people").

Michelle is a beautiful woman and loving mother. Palin uses her own kids as props!

"Sarah Palin is awesome...she is smart and beautifull at the same time

Michele Obama is kind of ugly, very big, and looks down on people..she thinks that she is better then most people."

I have news for you, dear; I am smart and beautiful at the same time. So are many women. Nothing awesome about it.

I'd like to ask; on what evidence do you base your assertion that Michelle Obama thinks that she is better than other people? I attended a speaking engagement of hers in February, and I did not get that impression then, nor have I formed it since.

Remember that we see people as WE are, not as THEY are. So maybe it's you who feels looked down upon by the Michelle Obamas of this world, and elevated by the Sarah Palins? Just something to think about.

THE PART ABOUT PALIN BEING SMART IS STILL OUT
FOR DEBATE!
SIX COLLEGES IN SIX YEARS ISN'T SMART!

Phil Smith Jr,
You are way off topic. They both have style. They are both smart. No one cares how they got their degree. By the way, your boy Obama is on TV right now and he is having LOTS of trouble because he is NOT using a teleprompter.

Then there's this hideous fur monstrosity Palin's wearing http://www.huffingtonpost.com/karin-tanabe/what-if-a-fashion-nightma_b_126357.html. I wonder if she killed, skinned, and sewed the atrocity herself?

Christina,
Sarah Palin is "smart and beautiful?"
Michelle Obama is "kinda ugly and big"?

I would like to know exactly what evidence you have that Sarah Palin is smart? Was it the 6 schools in 6 years or that horribly inept interview with Charlie Gibson? I will admit that she is attractive. But does equal a sexist remark, even though I'm a woman? Sorry, but I want intelligent leadership in the White House. How pretty she is means nothing to me.

Michelle Obama does not fit the American standard for beauty because she is not blond, blue-eyed and waif-thin. The woman is 5'11, for goodness sake! You act as if she had control over that! This woman exudes grace, intelligence and confidence. Republican or Democrat, you should be able to give credit where credit is due. And while I'm at it, when in the course of human events did it become a bad thing to be well-educated? Barack and Michelle Obama are being chastised for achieving exactly what parents in this country stress to their children every day (or should be stressing): nothing is more important than a good education.

Michelle Obama is so beautiful!! Class, confidence, grace...just lovely. And it all comes from her too. What a great first lady we'll have! Sarah Palin looked trashy until her Republican handlers got hold of her. Having said that, to my eye she looks bland now, just like all republicans seem to force their women to look. The person who said Michelle Obama was big and ugly must be blinded by her own prejudices, because Mrs Obama is, by most people's sense of beauty, a classic!

We tend to trivialize fashion without realizing that it's an extension of who we are. It's literally our outer skin.

From that perspective, let's look - without judgment - at what we see:

Sarah Palin: monochromatic colors (brown, beige, tan) with a splash of bright red, square suits, high necks, straight skirts, pumps with medium to high heels.

Michelle Obama: open neckline (V or scoop), dresses with some flow to them, layers (dresses & sweaters), a range of colors and black and white, pumps with low heels

Now for the judgment part: what do I see in this?

Sarah Pain's square jackets (straight jackets?) with high necklines and tight skirts reflect someone being contained and constrained by restricted movement. It all becomes about the upper body: bending from the waist, waving hands, shaking hands, autographing, using the head exclusively to reflect presence.

Her monochromatic colors suggest dullness, lack of imagination (a key ingredient in how one applies their 'smartness). The splash of red suggests aggression and trying to break out.

Michele Obama's layering clothes reflects flexibility, adjusting to the moment at hand. Skirts with movement suggest the ability to move easily and comfortably. Open necklines suggest availability and accessibility (the opposite, by the way of 'stuck up and looking down on people'). A range of colors suggests high imagination abilities (which is a key ingredient in creating and maintaining a vision, which is the only way anything gets done.) Low heels suggests sensitivity to how her height might make some people uncomfortable, and gives her greater range of freedom to move quickly, which in turn shows a practical side.

It never ceases to amaze me how slanted the media and all these on-line sites come across. Anything that is related to Obama is golden and anything hinting of McCain is orchestrated, not-genuine, and contived.Michelle Obama is big-no fault of her own and ugly- also no fault of her own. Lets not forget- shes a genius.

Please lets not compare the two

Palin is a pretty and elegant woman who deserves media attention and photographers

Michelle O is ugly and nasty. No matter how much makup you put on her, it just cant erase the monkey type features, she is truly ugly.

Obama sheeps could have thought twice not we have all to deal with this horrible first lady
