Is this a paid political advertisement?

Is this writer a worker for the Obama campaign? I don't get this column. Is she pulling an "Oprah"?

Obama stood by while "comedians" savaged America, Appalachia, Womanhood, even menopause and he smiled. He stood by while literally hundreds of misogynists attacks were issued by the press at Hillary Clinton, then complained when there was one cartoon about Michelle. He benefited from an obvious coup at the DNC. He benefited from gross media bias. He accepted the nomination at a rigged convention that rivaled national socialist party rallies for sheer vulgarity. He participated in disenfranchising Florida for the third time in 12 years. He told us to wait until his daughters grew up for power. He has done absolutely bupkiss to win back the 18 million democrats he ran off. He took out the best hope for women in the world, not just the country. Why on Earth would any feminist ever grace his presence? Vote Cynthia Mckinney, Vote Sarah Palin, Write in Hillary, but women should stick together. The democrats don't want or need us, just read their blogs.

Did the Obama campaign pay the Sun-Times for this advertising space? If not, will the Sun-Times be giving the McCain campaign an equal amount of free space?

A WEEK AGO YOU DIDN'T KNOW WHO GOV. PLAIN WAS,
AND NOW YOU ARE A CHEERLEADER FOR AN UNKNOWN,
MY ADVICE IS TO THINK BEFORE YOU SPEAK!
TO ALL WOMEN IS PALIN REALLY YOUR CHOICE?
I'M ENCOURAGING YOU TO LEARN MORE ABOUR HER!
IF SHE IS WITH BUSH, ROVE AND MCCAIN SHE HAS MORE
PROBLEMS THAN YOU THINK, ALL OF THESE GUYS ARE
BEING INVESTIGATED OR HAVE BEEN!

I'm sorry, I thought I was reading a news item. Next time, it would be nice if you could differentiate your political ads from the news.
Thanks. TotalKaosDave

Wow! I've never seen a more blatant political advertisement disguised as journalism.

If I want to get a ticket to the fundraiser, should I email the Chicago Sun-Times or call Lynn Sweet directly?

This blatent advertising by a "columnist and the Washington Bureau Chief" for barak obama is totally unethical..wow.

Totally unethical is what McCain, the GOP and the religious right are doing to this country and women in this campaign.

The GOP has a sordid history that shows they will do anything in order to win. The legacy of Richard Nixon lives on unabated. Little Bush's father squeezed Clarence, IOU, Thomas unto the Supreme Court. Justice Thomas, when the Florida vote fiasco came about, proceeded to make law not interpret it. The blatant hypocrisy of the GOP has a nose-bleeding stench to it. Instead of recusing himself, which he should have done, Justice Thomas proceeded to, in effect, appoint Senior Bush's son, little Bush, President. The IOU was paid off. Isn’t it ironic that Saddam Hussein couldn’t prove a negative and the Bush family, in effect, killed him? On the other hand, Clarence Thomas couldn’t prove a negative and the Bush family put him on the Supreme Court. Hypocrisy rules and is a way of life among Republicans.

The day after McCain announced his pick for VP, Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show that Governor Palin was a good choice because if the Democrats go after her, they, the GOP, will scream that women are being attacked. Listening to what they are doing shows that this is exactly what is being done. This is nothing less than an acute case of the Susan Smith syndrome. This suggests to me that Palin’s flesh is being peddled to cover for the fact that the GOP has this country in a virtual mess. The policies that got us here have been supported in no small measure by John McCain. With nothing of merit to run on, he is using sex to keep the voters distracted. Folks, this sinful stuff is what the so called “religious right” in this country is supporting up to their hypocrisy laden eyeballs. Any credibility they thought they had before God and the world is gone. All the pimps and pedophiles throughout this country must be feeling quite at ease about now.

Little Bush, with McCain's, eyes wide open and experienced assistance, has now taken the country to the brink of the gutter. That we have lost close to 4500 young American lives in Iraq due to Bush's unjustified and unnecessary distraction there and that our allies have lost less that 400 combined stand in stark testament to the colossal failure of the GOP in handling the affairs of this country. That distraction allowed bin Laden to exit the open back door of Afghanistan. Now, every time bin Laden wants to take additional liberties away from Americans, he drops a video on Bush’s desk and the latter, in effect, does bin Laden’s bidding. Add to that, the state of the economy and McCain has nothing to run on. Smoke and mirrors are his only options. In this vein, McCain has appointed a Paris Hilton look-a-like to stone wall and to throw up smoke screens to cover his naked backside while he steals and uses Obama’s “change” ideas. Additionally, McCain has no problem cannibalizing the care, time and attention from a two year old special needs child in order to advance his own personal political ambitions. If Americans fall for this then surely the Reverend Wright will have been totally vindicated. The World is watching. With McCain in his corner, Mughabe of Zimbabwe, must be feeling pretty comfy about now.

There is nothing the GOP wouldn't do in order to win. McCain's contention that he would rather lose an election than see his country lose a war is nothing more than a self-serving, poor me, platitude. The chronicles of the party to which he belongs so faithfully suggest otherwise. Additionally, that he, McCain, would stoop so low as to cannibalize the care, time and attention from a special needs child in order to advance his own personal political ambitions is totally repugnant and ungodly. The perpetrator of such a foul deed is not worthy of the solemn and sacred title of "Hero". The world is watching and so is God.

Big Sky007 - your words are sad, but very true. You have captured the thoughts of many of us, both male and female, about the past Bush disasters and McCain's weaknesses. That the GOP nominated Gov. Palin, a right-winged religious zealot and a proven liar, simply to shake things up and move attention away from economy is shameful. Great work Big Sky. Thanks!
