In the Wednesday Wall Street Journal, reporters Glenn R. Simpson and Amy Chozick have this scoop: The Obama campaign's Muslim American national coordinator Mazen Asbahi, a Chicago lawyer, stepped down "amid questions about his involvement in an Islamic investment fund and various Islamic groups.''
Background: Chicago attorney Mazen Asbahi with the firm Schiff Hardin was appointed July 26 to be the Obama campaign national coordinator for Muslim Americans. The appointment came at the end of Obama's Middle East and European swing where he visited Jordan, Israel and made a quick side trip to visit Palestinian Authority leaders in Ramallah. This also came as the Obama campaign has long had a special liaison to the Jewish American community and had massive Christian outreach and as reporters have been asking why Obama has yet to visit a mosque. This also came as Obama and his allies are still plagued with rumors that Obama, a Christian, is a Muslim. He is not, though his father and step father have Muslim roots.

Why doesn't the press get off Obamas back when it comes to muslims. He has christian, jewish and catholic liasons on his team and this is another attempt to try and say that he's a muslim which he isn't.
