McCain team Obama VFW pushback: Obama not credible on international stage

Please see our campaign's response to Senator Barack Obama's remarks to the Veterans of Foreign Wars today in Orlando, FL. Included in his remarks, Barack Obama doubted John McCain's commitment to finding Osama Bin Laden, because he has not projected an outspoken intention to bomb territories in an American ally Pakistan:

"Unlike Barack Obama, John McCain doesn't have to compensate for a lack of credibility on the international stage with inflammatory and public threats against American allies. The American people know that John McCain will hunt down terrorists wherever they are, and have a choice between strength and experience versus Barack Obama's rhetoric and theatrics." ---Tucker Bounds, spokesman John McCain 2008

Despite calling Musharraf a dictator today, in August 2007, Barack Obama Cited His Own Support For Pervez Musharraf Saying "What I Said Was That We Have To Work With Musharraf..." OBAMA: "I did not say that we would immediately go in unilaterally. What I said was that we have to work with Musharraf, because the biggest threat to American security right now are in the northwest provinces of Pakistan and that we should continue to give him military aid contingent on him doing something about that." (MSNBC Democratic Presidential Candidates Debate, Chicago, IL, 8/7/08)

Barack Obama Said That He Would Unilaterally Pursue al-Qaeda In Pakistan If There Was "Actionable Intelligence" And The Pakistani Government Failed To Go After Targets. CBS' LARA LOGAN: "Senator Obama told us more US troops would only be part of the solution, and an Obama administration would make pressing Pakistan a priority, pushing the government there to get more serious about clamping down on al-Qaeda and Taliban extremists operating out of its remote tribal areas. But how do you compel Pakistan to act?" OBAMA: "Well, you know, I think that the US government provides an awful lot of aid to Pakistan. Provides a lot of military support to Pakistan. And to send a clear message to Pakistan that this is important to them as well as to us, that I think--that message has not been sent." LOGAN: "And under what circumstances would you authorize unilateral US action against targets inside the tribal areas?" OBAMA: "Well, what I've said is that if we had actionable intelligence against high-value al-Qaeda targets, and the Pakistani government was unwilling to go after those targets, that we should. Now my hope is is that it doesn't come to that. That, in fact, the Pakistani government would recognize that if we had Osama bin Laden in our sights, that we should fire, or we should capture and..." (CBS' "The Early Show," 7/21/08)

· When Further Questioned Whether It Was Current U.S. Policy To Go After al-Qaeda In Pakistan If The Pakistani Government Failed To Act, Barack Obama Conceded That It Probably Was Current Policy. LOGAN: "Isn't that the case now? I mean, do you--do you really think..." OBAMA: "Well..." LOGAN: "...if US forces had Osama bin Laden in its sights and the Pakistanis said no, that they wouldn't fire? They wouldn't go after him?" OBAMA: "Oh, no, I think actually this is current doctrine. There was some dispute when I said this last August. Both the administration and some of my opponents suggested, well, you know, you shouldn't go around saying that. But I don't think there's any doubt that that should be our policy and will continue to be our policy." LOGAN: "But it is the current policy." OBAMA: "I believe it is the current policy." LOGAN: "So there's no change then?" OBAMA: "I don't think there's going to be a change there. I think that in order for us to be successful, it's not going to be enough just to engage in the occasional shot fired. We've got training camps that are growing and multiplying." (CBS' "The Early Show," 7/21/08)

· When Asked If He Would Take Out Training Camps In Pakistan, Barack Obama Said That He Would Like Pakistan To Take Them Out Or For The U.S. And Pakistan To Take Them Out Together. LOGAN: "Would you take out all those training camps? Sen. OBAMA: "Well, I think that what we'd like to see is the Pakistani government take out those training camps." LOGAN: "And if they won't?" OBAMA: "Well, I think that we've got to work with them so they will." (CBS' "The Early Show," 7/21/08)

I DON'T THINK ALL THOSE PEOPLE IN BERLIN WOULD
AGREE WITH THAT ASSESSMENT!
BARACK OBAMA IS THE ONLY PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE
OUR ALLIES REALLY TAKE SERIOUSLY, MCCAIN IS JUST
MCCAIN, HE ISN'T GOING TO CHANGE, YOU CAN'T
TEACH AN OLD DOG NEW TRICKS!

MCCAIN DOESN'T REALIZE THAT EVERYONE AT THE VFW
ISN'T HIS FRIEND, HE MAY CALL THEM THAT, BUT
HE ISN'T THEIR FRIEND, HE IS RICH, MOST OF THEM
ARE HANGING ON BY A THREAD, JUST LIKE MOST OF
AMERICA, AND FOR A RICH GUY WHO IS MARRIED TO A
RICH WOMAN, WHO IS GETTING PAID OVER 100,000 A
YEAR TO BE A SENATOR, AND DRAWING A DISABILITY
PENSION FROM THE NAVY, AND GETTING ANOTHER 2,000
FROM SOCIAL SECURITY, HE MAY CALL YOU HIS FRIEND
BUT HE REALLY ISN'T, HE NEEDS VOTES, AND NOW THAT
HE IS WITH KARL ROVE AND THE MINIONS, HE KEEPS
HANGING OUT A VFW'S BASHING OBAMA, HE THINKS ALL
WAR VETERAN'S ARE HIS FRIEND, THINK AGAIN!

Smith - you're an imbecile. First off, what does it matter to what people in Berlin think? When did they get to EVER vote for a U.S. president? Should we elect a person because Germans or Europeans like the person? If anything, that is a reason NOT to vote for him. Europe with the exception of England is Socialistic in their politics.
McCain married a rich woman. Is that all you have? McCain himself comes from a well off family, and made wise investments before he met his wife. A Navy pension? Obviously, you never had enough balls to serve in the military to understand that a military disability pension is crap - my brother, a Viet Nam vet gets crap on his disability. You truly are an ignorant person who justly represents the Obama base. Your comments reflect those of a sour liberal with little or no education.

Obama is as credible on the international stage as anyone else, if he is elected President, he will command the stage as such, we are a super power albeit slightly damaged due to Bush/Cheney and Rumsfeld over the past 8 years.

But as the richest nation on earth when the US President speaks the world does listen, it really doesn't matter who is President, I wonder if McCain is leceted President if he will be able to have Liberman and Graham on both sides whispering the correct responses in his ears, as has been happening for the past 6 months?

This is laughable. A junior Senator criticizing McCain's experience and willingness to fight terrorists? Horrendous. He should watch the documentary "Obsession" before he makes remarks like this....the threat is real, must be stopped, and McCain will not run from these hate-filled terrorists.

DEAR CB THOUGHT I FORGOT ABOUT YOU DIDN'T YOU,
HAD MORE IMPORTANT THINGS TO TAKE CARE OF, NOW
I CAN HANDLE MY LIGHT WORK, YOU ARE A JOHNNY COME
LATELY I GATHER, BARACK OBAMA IS SMARTER THAN
YOU AND YOUR CANDIDATE!
YOU DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT MCCAIN RECEIVES AS
DISABILITY ON A MONTHLY BASIS!
SORRY ABOUT YOUR BROTHER!
ALOT OF THOSE PEOPLE IN BERLIN WILL VOTE FOR THE
PRESIDENCY BY ABSENTEE BALLOT!
THERE WERE ALOT OF AMERICAN'S IN THAT CROWD IN
BERLIN!
FINALLY STOP WATCHING FOX NEWS THEY HAVE WARPED
YOUR BRAIN!

Ahhh, Politics aren't they wonderful. Why in the "world" would someone want to elect a person just because they are charismatic? I think Pamela Anderson looks good on stage, helps run organizations, yet would be an awful president. Smith, you are willing to trust things that will affect our generations to come, to a man who has had 2 years in the Senate and can hold an audience. Wow, I can careless if he can talk a good game but but can he produce behind close doors? He says he is out for the middle and lower class, yet the poor are the poorest in his district. See the problem with this election is that stupid people just listen to people talk, and not go find things out for themselves. SMITH, try reading/investigating instead of listening to the TV. You will learn about both parties, not just the one that is being spoon fed to you through the media.

If you watch your liberal tv, you will hear OBAMA 3x more that McCain unless it is a smear campaign.

Smith, YOU ARE A SHEEPLE (Sheep/People).

THANKS TO OBAMA THE PEOPLE IN HIS DISTRICT REEP
THE BENEFIT OF HAVING HIM AS SENATOR, EVERYONE
IN HIS DISTRICT ISN'T POOR, THAT'S A MISNOMER!
SO WE KNOW YOU AREN'T FROM THE CHICAGO AREA!
I DON'T GET ALL MY INFORMATION FROM THE TELEVISION
AND YOU KNOW THAT, YOU STOP LISTENING TO LIMBAUGH
AND ROVE AND HANNITY!
I NEVER USED THE WORD CHARISMATIC, BUT YOU DID,
SO I KNOW YOU ARE JEALOUS OF OBAMA!
YOUR GUY IS A BORE, AND I WONDER HOW LONG IT'S
GOING TO TAKE TO PUT YOU TO SLEEP WHEN HE GIVES
HIS ACCEPTANCE SPEECH!
YOU WANT A GUY THAT FINISHED 894 OUT OF 899 IN
THE NAVAL ACADEMY TO BE PRESIDENT, SO EITHER YOU
ARE SUB-STANDARD OR YOU JUST LIKE BELOW AVERAGE
PEOPLE!
YOU SEE HOW CRAZY AMERICA IS NOW THAT BUSH
WRECKED THE COUNTRY, WE ARE IN A RECESSION AND
HEADING FOR A DEPRESSION, AND NOW MCCAIN WANTS
TO INSTITUTE THE DRAFT!
WAKE-UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!

WELL ON YOUR CONSERVATIVE CHANNEL I HEAR YOUR
BOY HANNITY TALK ABOUT OBAMA EVERY NIGHT!
HE SHOULD SEND PART OF HIS PAY TO OBAMA, IF OBAMA
WASN'T RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT, WHAT WOULD DEAR
SEAN HAVE TO TALK ABOUT!
TELL SEAN HANNITY IF HE HAS A PROBLEM WITH MR.
AYERS HE SHOULD MAN UP AND GO TALK TO HIM!
