Obama adds Clinton advisors to his National Security team

WASHINGTON--The Obama campaign is moving ahead with adding to its team key advisors from Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's corral, on Tuesday announcing former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright is becoming part of Obama's "Senior working group on national security." Also note on the list below of advisors--not all new (Susan Rice has been with Obama from the beginning)--two names mentioned as vice presidential prospects--former Sen. Sam Nunn and former Rep. Tim Roemer. Interesting...Eric Holder---also on the Obama running mate vetting squad--is also a national security advisor.

Obama Announces Senior Working Group on National Security

Obama to Hold Meetings with Working Group Members and Retired Flag Officers in Washington, DC Today

CHICAGO, IL – Senator Obama today announced the formation of his Senior Working Group on National Security, a group of advisors that he will consult on a regular basis between now and the election. Obama will meet with the group for the first time today in Washington, DC for a wide-ranging discussion of the immense challenges faced by the United States in the wake of the disastrous foreign policies of George Bush.

“Each individual here today has provided extraordinary service to our nation in the executive branch and Congress. Several have been advising my campaign for some time. We’re also honored to be joined by some of Senator Clinton’s senior advisors. In the months to come, we’ll be reaching out to others, as well as leaders in Congress,” Senator Obama said. “The stakes in this election could not be higher. John McCain wants to continue George Bush's foreign policy which has made us less safe, less respected, and less able to lead the world. It's time to change course. It's time to end the war in Iraq responsibly, refocus on Afghanistan and al Qaeda, and renew our global leadership so that we can tackle the huge challenges of the 21st century.”

Later today, he will also meet with a group of nearly 40 retired Admirals and Generals to discuss the state of our armed forces, and the challenges facing our military in Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the world. This meeting is part of an ongoing dialogue between Senator Obama and current and former military officers of various ranks and views.

Senator Obama’s Senior Working Group on National Security includes:

Secretary of State Madeleine Albright
Senator David Boren, former Chairman of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence
Secretary of State Warren Christopher
Greg Craig, former director of the State Department Office of Policy Planning
Secretary of the Navy Richard Danzig
Representative Lee Hamilton, former Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee
Deputy Attorney General Eric Holder
Dr. Tony Lake, former National Security Advisor
Senator Sam Nunn, former Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Secretary of Defense William Perry
Dr. Susan Rice, former Assistant Secretary of State
Representative Tim Roemer, 9/11 Commissioner
Jim Steinberg, former Deputy National Security Advisor

That's fine. I don't donate any money til Hillary's on the ticket or says she no longer wants it.

I don't trust Obama and I believe that the Dems are making a huge mistake sticking by BO. I will not donate money to the DNC because I no longer believe that this party stands for all people. As a woman in my 40's I believe that the DNC only cares about first time voters more then the long time supporters. Obama cheated in the caucus states. Just ask the good people of El Paso, Tx. My inlaws live there and told me how the Obama "thugs" tried to keep them from voting. Say no to Obama in 2008

Look, why are we still getting coverage of Hillary supporters, as if Hillary's still a candidate? News flash: Hillary LOST! Everyone listed above is working to put a Democrat in the White House in November while there is still a Democratic Majority in Congress and the Senate. We need to accept and get over the reality that Hillary lost the nomination. Hillary was served poorly by a pack of Penn-led overpaid hacks who pretty much ended her politcal career. So poorly, in fact, that even the Vice Presidency is now out of her reach, Patty Solis-Doyle being the least responsible for that reality. Thus, on the 20th day of January in 2009, she is not going to be the President of the United States of America. She'll be attending the 44th Presidential Inauguration as a Senator with her spouse President Bill Clinton.

Hillary really needs to be concentrating on keeping that New York Senate seat. Hillary put her torch to several much needed political bridges in New York during her quest to captivate her blue-collar, beer-n-shot, bowling base of Appalatian lunch pailers her one-time elitist NAFTA promoting fiscally victimized during her two-for-one Presidency with Bill. The Moynehans of New York State are watching this DC-by-way-of-Arkansas-by-way-of-Illinois carpetbagger, chomping at the Senatoral bit to unseat her in 2010, seeing her blood in the political waters after the scourging wounding the Clinton brand has suffered, thanks to Team Hillary's feckless pursuit of the Democratic nomination in 2008. Sure, she blazed a trail for many female Presidential candidates to come. But, unfortunately, she irreparably scorched the earth to blaze that trail, even torching her own party along the way. For it, Hillary has a fork stuck square to the middle of her back, indicating that she is so DONE!!! Finished! Through! Finito! It's going to take the DNC quite a little while to heal from Hillary's 3rd degree burning of her own party. Still, Democratic voters just want to apply the balm to get the healing going.

America has spent enough time cajoling and placating Hillary Rodham Clinton. Hiilary's biggest issue is her ego is wounded. She and the corporate media need to grow up. No one has ever died from a bruised ego. All the other Democratic contenders, like Kucinich, Dodd, Biden, Edwards, and Gravel, graciously accepted the message sent from the voters and politely shut down their campaigns. Hillary needed to follow that lead, and be a big girl about this, instead of running up enough bills to rival the Bush43 national debt in her failed attempt to game super delegates to prove Obama to be dangerously unelectable against Grampers in November. Please! My dippy Springer Spaniel could beat John McCain in November. The truth is whoever won the Demoratic nomination was sure to beat the already befuddled John McCain. That it wasn't Hillary does not impact contemporary civilization as deeply as the Hillary Forces working in the media would have the world beleive.

So, enough with these senseless and ridiculous reports of Hillary's supporter hording already! She's acting like some old recluse hording cats. These one-time supporters were never Hillary's personal property, as they are making quite patently clear at this point. What's more, with Hillary having finally confessed that she has been summarily vanquished by the novice that idiot Mark Penn foolishly underestimated, Democrats are doing what politically comes naturally. They are now supporting the winner, the new presumptive Democratic Party nominee, Obama, to ensure America doesn't wind up with Grampers McCainiac snoozing Reagan-style between outbursts of PTSD induced anger while surrogates for the Bush Family Evil Empire run us literally dead into nuclear Armaggedon. Like Condi admonished us, we don't want the next smoking gun to be a mushroom cloud. If John Bomb-Iran McCainiac is elected, that mushroom cloud is precisely what we'll get, replete with smoking guns.

Life is still going on, even with Hillary returned to the Senate. Let it go!
