Obama campaign allows "protective pool" coverage.

WASHINGTON--After requests from major news outlets and wire services, the Obama campaign has agreed to allow coverage for all movements of presumptive Democratic nominee Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.). Hat tip to my colleagues who have led this fight for access. This small pool at all events, called a "protective pool," is similar to one that that follows the president no matter where he goes. Here is the first protective pool report from the New York Times Jeff Zeleny about Obama's visit to the Walter Reed Army Medical Center here.

June 28, 2008

No news, no color.

The campaign's protective pool made its debut today. Your pool departed the
Capital Hilton at 6:50 am, arriving by 7 am at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, where
Senator Obama spent the night.
After holding outside for two hours, your pool drove to far Northwest
Washington. Mr. Obama arrived at the main building of Walter Reed Army Medical
Hospital at 9:20 am. He made no comments when he departed at 11 am.
Your pool followed the motorcade to the Renaissance hotel for NALEO, arriving at
11:15 am.

Dear American Voters, reporters, media. professionals, political parties, and presidential Nominees,

Subject: Presidential Temperament

Please talk about and "Compare And Contrast" the " Presidential Temperament" of our Presidential presumptive nominees. I will also request and plead to the nominees themselves [ Hon. Senator McCain and Obama ].

Our nation has been applying this yard and stick tor the appointments and confirmation process of our Supreme Court Justices nominees.

Our Greatgrand Nation Foundations are as under:
Family, friends, fellows, faith, funds, fun, with fairness & freedom And without fear, favor, and failure.

It will be disgrace and shameful if the nominees and media will not look into this critical and crucial aspect under current challenging times and circumstances facing our country and the Globe.

Please America and citizens USA wake up and ask to compare and contrast the " Presidential Temperament" of our presumptive presidential nominees.

Yours sincerely,

COL. A.M.Khajawall [Ret].

Forensic psychiatrist, Las Vegas, Nevada.

This is how Senator Clinton can retire her prsent campaign debt with the 24 million dollars collected and designated for the 2008 General Election, if she had made it that far.

Will anybody from the Boston Globe be allowed in?

Lynn, clearly, if Obama (and Gibbs and Dunn and Pfeiffer and Burton and all the other cowardly Obama press flacks) had any integrity whatsoever, you would have been in the protective pool. Keep up the good fight Lynn. You're the only one we out here in the hinterlands can count on to give us an honest (neither pro-or-anti) take on Senator Obama and his statements and behavior.

by pool, i think he meant fool.

I guess McCain does not need a protective pool since we can read about his constant gaffes and flip-flops via the internet. Goodness knows even if he had a pool they would not be reporting his constant reversals. No need letting the public know what a total liar and loser he is when it is so much more profitable to pretend it's a tight race and McCain is in there every step of the way. After all, who cares what the bulk of American people want.

I would like to know if the press has fought with the McCain campaign for such a "protective pool" too.
