Department of Obama Image drops pseudo presidential seal.

WASHINGTON--The Obama campaign didn't see it coming-catching flak for creating a mock presidential, seal with the Obama "Yes we can" slogan in Latin last Friday. The campaign unveiled it at a meeting Obama had with Democratic governors in Chicago. On Monday, the Obama campaign announced that the seal was for one-time viewing only and was retired from duty. I know the use of the seal touched a political nerve and sparked a lively debate on my blog and over at other sites over whether it was proper, legal, arrogant, an example of Obama hubris, or presidential, whimsical and appropriate.

The seal episode showed that the command and control center at the Department of Obama Image (DOI) had an off day, and let the seal designed by the in-house Obama graphics group--seemingly harmless--go on to become a distraction and build a storyline not approved by the Department of Obama Message Management (DOMM).

I hope someone saves the seal for the Smithsonian or the Obama presidential library, to be located on Chicago's Southeast Side, near where Obama got his start as a community organizer. Groundbreaking is scheduled for sometime in 2016 in connection with the 2016 Olympics in Chicago.

Another flip-flop for Obama... go figure

And, Ms. Sweet, just who is in charge of the Obama Command and Control Center? Who works for the Obama Graphics Group? Off-day, you say? The whole concept of a mock seal was stupid and sophomoric--and a true mocking of the heritage and traditions of the United States. Are these Obama kids--meaning Barack, Michelle and his staff--really read for prime time, for their close-up with Mr. DeMille?

Hi, Lynn. Check out this link - see anything familiar? http://www.nrsc.org/membership/ Nothing is more appalling than arrogant political hubris - nothing, that is, except for hypocrisy.

The use of a replica of The Great Seal was illegal. Somebody realized that a killed it. Good move! 'Bama can do better than that, or not, if he wants to earn the prize. Tell us more about what you will do as President, 'Bama - don't rely on crap like a fake presidential seal. Who's pulling your strings? Soros?

This is just stupid. Everyone's dancing to the tune of the Republican noise machine again. Has anyone noticed that the NRSC has three separate versions of the seal on their fundraising website. Not worth any comment, huh? I guess it's IOKIYAR.

Haha, even though I am a huge Obama supporter, I do love the titles of "DOI" and "DOMM", as it certainly seems like they would have such departments.

Very funny Lynn - let's just hope you don't work too hard on becoming Public Enemy #1 with the fans - the Sun-Times already has Jay Mariotti bashing every sports figure we love, we don't need someone having a similar attitude towards our favorite politicians as well...

I see the latin slogan, "Yes We Can", as code for the Hispanics (read here: Illegal Aliens)who protest in our streets, without fear of deportation, using the Spanish slogan "Si Se Puede". They will be voting in the next election due to the lack of voting regulation.

He need more than catching Flack.

He has no respect for anything in the Government or Office of the President. He has done everything for a year and a half to make a mockery out of it.

The seal was a joke. It showed how elitist Barack Hussein Obama is. Give me a break don't you think it is very early to speculate about an Obama Presidential Library on Chicago's south side where he was a community organizer how does that qualify him to be President of the greatest nation on earth the United States of America?

This is an incredibly stupid non-issue.

Pseudo Presidential Seal.

Pseudo Presidential Candidate.

Pseudo: False; deceptive; sham.

I am an adamant supporter of the Obama campaign but this "seal thingy" is the stupidest thing I could imagine someone taking time to design. I mean this isn't something done on a whim. It had to have taken many peoples' approval and more people to approve it being prominently displayed at the Governors meeting. Sometimes the people in the Obama campaign leave themselves completely open to ridicule and are completely clueless. The Obama campaign needs a "daily briefer" that needs to remind everyone involved and working that they must leave their arrogance at home and buy a "cup of humility" on the way to work. How did they think this "seal" would be received??? sheesh!!

Meanwhile, the Republicans will continue to use seals that are JUST as questionable as this one they pretended to be so offended by.

Typical hypocrisy.

When Obama loses in November he can wear that seal around his neck like flava flaves clock

"Typical hypocrisy"

Not so much, I don't think. The GOP's symbols don't have stupid campaign slogans (translated to latin, stolen from a 60's campaign) or website URLs on them.

I'm not discussing any legalities, just on pure style alone, Barack tanked on this one. Putting a semi-presidential seal before himself in a press event ... it's simply bad form.

Senator B. Obama should be formally censured by the U.S. Senate for this deliberate defacement of The Great Seal of America. By removing the arrows from the shield he is sending a message conoting that America is a weakened defenseless nation he wants to transform us into. By placing his own campaign slogan on this work of debauchery he shows his contempt and disdain for the symbols that embody and represent our great heritage.

Perhaps it was a gift to,
and a surprise for President (whoops),
I mean,
Senator Obama from the DNC.

You know, to seal the deal or,
maybe the DNC's seal of approval?
